30 Bananas a Day!

As a single person, living in a VERY rural area of South Carolina, I was thinking how on earth I am going to explain this to any member of the opposite sex.  I find that just with being a vegan you are already an anomaly. I am new to this area so I have tried to find "groups" but there is nothing in this area, I found one small group on the meetup website that is 45mins away and the other 1.5hours away.  I feel like if I am going to do this I need someone like minded because the other half of the world thinks Im just bat shit crazy.  I've actually kinda been keeping it a "secret" because I don't want to hear peoples comments. But anyway.. I don't want to be single forever either because I have adopted a "radical" (lol) lifestyle.  What have your experiences been? or how do you 'handle' the dating scene?

I live in Texas....But even here I've had a lot of people come around.  Now most of them are psychology students so they understand easily how people can be fooled by the majorities!!  I always recommend being friends with people into psychology.

I haven't engaged in the dating scene much since going HCRV, in part because as I look around there aren't many options.  When I have dated it usually was with someone who wasn't HCRV and usually was on some sort of SAD, and it went poorly for all the reasons you can imagine.  What it ultimately did was make me feel more committed to being with someone who can really understand the HCRV lifestyle.  Until I meet someone on this front, I will hold out, tough as that may be.  Best wishes on your efforts!

I really just believe it is easier that way.  In the relationship I mentioned above before we started dating it was something he had been interested in ( being veggie) but didn't know how to go about it. Its amazing how people do not utilize their resources. The book that turned me vegetarian was Eat to Live by Dr Joel Fuhrman. My diet has been a snowball since then but it's hard for me to comprehend why more people can't open their mind when it's right in front of their face! Arg. :)

Yep.  Cool stuff.  And now you are in a place where there are like-minded people available to meet.  That's pretty exciting, right?!  :)

Yes! Except unfortunately most are far away! But it is definitely better than nothing!

where?! ha

"I don't want to be single forever either because I have adopted a "radical" (lol) lifestyle." Me neither! Look at my situation: I dated a hcrv guy for two months and it was perfect for me, but than it is over. I have no idea how to act like now with the other guys! Many are just curious to hang out with a frugivore girl, but i don´t like these kind of relationship... lol It´s funny, but now I´m lazy even to explain this lifestyle.

lol.. it is exhausting to have to explain. This lifestyle I am obviously new to it but I don't know enough about it to really arm myself with explanations on certain things. Basic veg/vegan questions I can.. 811? Not yet :)

Wow, I'm jealous that you found a HCRV guy to date, even if it was only for two months! I'm afraid that the only way I will ever meet someone who shares my perspective on lifestyle is on 30BAD, but everyone is so far away, and I'm a bit too shy to really start anything!

+1 haha..  Im not too shy to start anything though.. just I've been single for 5 years. I have dated.. but nothing more than 3 months or worth mentioning for that matter. I am 31 years old... and well.. its time I believe.

Yeah, it was perfect but now i am just by myself. i started the 80/10/10 before i met him and we started initially because of it. It was very easy because one understand each other. Now I don't know, i'm just living my life with fruits, sun and exercises!

Finding conscious people in an unconscious world can be VERY difficult. The savvy person will always wear a real label vs a fashion label when out and about to help conscious people distinguish them from the herd.

The savvy person starts up youtube channel, forum, puts on potlucks etc. Savvy people get full. The unsav peeps starve on scraps.
