30 Bananas a Day!

As a single person, living in a VERY rural area of South Carolina, I was thinking how on earth I am going to explain this to any member of the opposite sex.  I find that just with being a vegan you are already an anomaly. I am new to this area so I have tried to find "groups" but there is nothing in this area, I found one small group on the meetup website that is 45mins away and the other 1.5hours away.  I feel like if I am going to do this I need someone like minded because the other half of the world thinks Im just bat shit crazy.  I've actually kinda been keeping it a "secret" because I don't want to hear peoples comments. But anyway.. I don't want to be single forever either because I have adopted a "radical" (lol) lifestyle.  What have your experiences been? or how do you 'handle' the dating scene?

thank you Harley!

I signed up for a bunch of groups on meetup.com that interest me, including vegan gatherings and potlucks.  With non-vegan events, people will notice me with fruit and get curious so I'll explain further if they desire.

I've pretty much resigned myself to not going into restaurants and bars, unless I can just get some fruit or a juice/smoothie.  I just choose to meet and connect with others outside food and drink.  If someone is interested, I'll invite them on a picnic or over to my house to show them how I eat and live.

Yeah but thats the sad part. My location is so remote there is only one vegan meetup group. 45min/hour away.. and they have meeting on like Thursdays? Which is not going to work for me. C'est la vie!

:)

Also consider the possibly of a change in environment.  If you're needs are not being met where you are, pick up and move to your ideal location.

Not possible. :) I am currently in the military so I don't have a choice in where I live. If I did I certainly wouldn't have chosen this remote of a location! I appreciate the thought though!
