Tonight I had my first cooked Vegan meal in two months...I don't feel that great about it but at the same time as a man with a wife and four kids who aren't fruity like I, and since I don't get paid until Thursday which is three days away, I just couldn't buy as much fruit today. Although I do have enough fruit for us all to share and enough for me to still get 1500 of my morning calories from sweet ripe fruit.
My wife has recently switched back to a cooked vegan diet and my kids do what she does. I definitely feel so much better as a 100% fruit bat, and I still stayed 80/10/10........
Guess I'm just seeking a little encouragement!!!!!!!
Your family should be your top priority. On that note, not sure why you think you should starve instead of eating cooked vegan. That is NOT the messege here. I'm guessing from your post, that your not buyng fruit in bulk? Shouldn't need to buy it daily. If you buy in bulk, it is much cheaper. Hope your financial outlook improves.
I do usually buy all my fruit in bulk but we are pretty much at the end of our supply.. So when I went shopping today all I could afford was 40 bananas.. Ten apples..ten oranges..ten mango's and a whole butt load of greens....but trust me.. for me alone that would last me till Thursday(pay day)but not for four hungry kids under ten and my lovely wife...
Thats awesome you are doing this with a family, i'm sure you are a great influence for them.
Thanks...Thats the kind of love I was hoping for...refreshing
Fruit is the best. Nobody got fat or sick on McDougall's programme though.
Given the choice between living on raw gourmet or living on McDougall, gimme the later ANY day. At least you can still maintain high energy and live hard.
I was gonna post Dr.Mcdougall's stuff~y too! :) I totally agree, second best!!!!
Now if I can just get my family to jump on board too!! I think that is soooo wonderful your whole family eat this way Matt!!! What a blessing for you children!!! Already on the healthy, happy, correct path!
Same here... eating a cooked dinner is totally doable, especially if when you can you add back in the raw and when you can't you eat high carb, low fat and hopefully no salt.
yeah that´s the problem with cooked carbs, most of the time they don´t taste good unless we add salt or some condiment to it, but otherwise they are ok
I've been baking russet potatoes and sweet potatoes and adding nothing to them and they taste pretty great to me and it's really helping me stay HCV. Eventually I will be HCRV!! I also cook rice and add nothing and it's fine, although I prefer potatoes. Something that I tried the other day was squeezing lemon on the potato and that was pretty tasty. :0)
