Ive been fully raw for a while now to lose weight as I am 170 kg (374 lb) and ive been losing alot off weight easily but I decided to add cooked food to my diet witch I really enjoyed but after a couple of days, I started gaining weight! I did not even add grains to my diet just cooked vegetables. I know many people who say they gain weight on a raw till 4 or add cooked food into their diet are doing it wrong either not eating enough or eating unhealthy food but im doing it the right way! I am however overweight and do not move or exercise so maybe thats the reason?
Foods I cooked in the last couple of weeks are cauliflower rice with vegetables cooked with coconut oil.. potato and chickpeas salad with tofu mayonnaise.. tomato or potato soup.. baked fries with hummus..
From my own experience, cooked food does not sit well with me. From what you described that you added to your diet I would not do well with and it would sit in my gut. Going from raw to mayo, and coconut oil sounds like your eating more fat than before. Are you using cronometer to make sure your eating 80/10/10? How much water did you increase since you added cooked food? Cooked food is dehydrating and you need to increase your water. You say you dont move around, but you may want to start walking around the block. How much sun are you getting? Your stress levels, sleep?

Yes I did make sure I only take 10% of my calories from fat so im not getting lots of fat and I also drink one liters of water a day.. however I dont get much sun, sleep or exercise and I eat 2500 calories (im a male) but I dont think these are the reasons I gained weight. I guess ill go back to raw because I dont have time to waste I want to start losing weight. Thank you :)
I fully understand your issues. I can only eat raw or on very rare occasions eat cooked, but if I do eat cooked its rice or bread. Nothing more or I gain.
Even after I lose my weight and do exercise it will be like this? I cant be raw my whole life.. when I lose weight I want to be able to eat rice pasta, potatoes and beans. Thanx for your reply :)
You can eat cooked food, but it will take you a lot longer to lose the weight. Once you lose weight and are in maintenance mode you can eat cooked food. By then you will know your body better and what it thrives on.
take your measurements. are you slowly and steadily gaining weight, or all at once? also, cut out oil completely. your fat should come from small amounts of nuts, seeds, and avocados. also, 1 liter isn't enough water. try at least 2 liters or more.
one last thing, definitely exercise more. walking, jogging, cycling, anything. find a local hill then walk up it 5 times.
yep ditch the oil you want fat eat some avocado once in a while or something some seeds or nuts etc.. watch the sodium too.
I'd be curious how much weight did you gain? a few lbs doesnt mean a whole lot if you gained 20 or something then we are talking about somethings up.
I'm raw most days but i've gained and lost all raw vs raw till 4 etc.. From my view the body will do what the body will do but I think if i was heavy i'd just be a decline.
best bet is to be sure your eating nothing but real whole foods and leave it at that the rest will take care of itself.
