If you are a person who is struggling with making changes in your life, including with going vegan or achieving optimal health, you are welcome to message me on here if you would like to get in touch by phone or skype. There is no charge of any kind or anything like that, I'm just putting this out there, because some people, such as myself, much rather prefer to have a conversation about something, rather than always being limited to posting a thread and waiting a couple of days for some replies.
Me: American male. 6 years vegan. Great failures followed by successes. I do endurance sports now and have healed all sorts of "chronic illnesses". I am not a person who can answer obscure questions about veganism or refute a scientific paper written by a random person at a random university. I am also terrible at listening to people who are trying to find really complicated reasons to justify why they should keep doing the exact same thing, the exact same way, even though its not working .
I am just really good at forming bold plans of action for people who are already committed to changing their lives.
You: Committed to getting results by doing whatever you need to do within reason, even if it means trying multiple methods, or trying things you have not attempted before. If you are someone who insists on getting results doing it "your way" I can't do anything for you.
Hi Julie, I'm not sure whether or not I would qualify as a "mentor", but I can definitely be supportive and be a good friend to people.
The people around me seem to think that I'm a very honest person, who has no ulterior motives, and who has a large amount of life experience getting through bad situations. Sometimes it can be very hard to find people like that. I'll message you and if there are questions I can answer for you, or just give you an honest unbiased opinion about anything, I am more than happy to do so.
Bipolar disorder, depression, suicidal tendencies, psoriasis, bulimia/disordered eating, anxiety, panic attacks, alcohol and drug addiction, hopelessness, listlessness, procrastination, various sports injuries (basketball, endurance sports, cage fighting), getting hit by a car, being homeless for 1 year sleeping on the streets, mistreating women.
I find it very normal and natural to try to reach out to other people, because without key people in my life at key moments, who pushed me, stood up for me when things went wrong, and modeled for me a better way to live life, I would not be here right now.
I second all this!
Nice to see you back on track, A.
Will keep talking to you in PM, but not because I search advice (well, that too)
But mainly because I think that you're a great guy. Keep it going ;-)
Thank you so much I really appreciate your support I have almost regained the use of my left arm since the car accident 2 1/2 months ago. Since the accident I have been slowly and methodically rebuilding my body, my mind and my spirit, so this seemed like a good time to try to open up to other people a bit.
