30 Bananas a Day!

Were having a discussion in a danish forum about wether a cooked vegan diet is more climate friendly than being a frugivore.
I dont know much about this, so maybe you could help?
Theres no doubt that transport is a major issue when it comes to being a frugivore on eg scandinavia -but there are others factors. So if you have any link to info on this, any good thoughts or points, please share :D!

True, where I live absolutely nothing grows outdoors this time of year, any plant foods save indoor grown herbs and vegetables must be imported (or stored long term), fruit or otherwise. You're right, we have to bring the tropics wherever we hope to live, and this is the case whether we eat fruit primarily or not. I question the ecological soundness and sustainability of vast numbers of humans living year round in temperate latitudes period. It would be interesting to put all the evidence on the table about the environmental pros and cons of a cooked vs. raw frugivorous vegan diet, I imagine the closer you lived to the tropics the better the frugivorous diet would fare. My hunch is that if you lived quite far away like myself, one may be slightly better than the other but if you took everything into account it wouldn't be a huge difference, though I could be wrong. It may be a splitting hairs issue anyways because both would seem to be superior to an SAD omnivorous diet in terms of the environment, in addition to health and ethics.
