After poking through this forum for an answer, I couldn't find one that was all that definitive so I decided to make an account and post it. With all the great info on this site, and me veering towards a high-card vegan diet, I thought it would be a good idea to join the forum as well.
Anyways, chia seeds, are they acceptable on a daily basis? (1-2 Tbsp) Would they hinder digestion? Should they be ground?
Apologies if this is the wrong section, they probably don't fall under "raw."
chia seeds are high in fat, but 1-2 tablespoons isn't a whole lot either. So if you don't include any other overt fats like nuts or avocados on days when you eat chia seeds, then you'll probably still fall under 10% of total calories from fat.
Thanks for the info Gianni. I probably wont be following the 80-10-10 strictly, but it will be a general guideline. I'll probably shoot for 10% fat daily, but a few days a week will probably be a few % higher. I'm more worried about things that won't digest easily, especially if i will be having it daily. Is this the case with chia seeds?
Ya... I'd like to know if they are acceptable or not, and if they are, would it be more beneficial to grind them in a blender before using.
