First of all, very sad for the Swordfish who got shot by a spear. Different people will have different sentiment for the evil, bully captain. People can come to their own conclusion. One less animal killer is one point of view.
Anyway, my post is not about the article itself, but more interestingly the comments. At point of writing there are 24 comments, most of which condemn the killing of the fish, and suggest the Captain got what he deserved.
It's interesting that these people clearly show compassion and awareness, which backs up my feeling that most humans are vegans inside. They just need help to undo their many years of brainwashing. It is probable that many of the comments were posted by people who will then consume meat, dairy and eggs. They don't see the inherent contradiction. Although a sad story, it does show a positive signal that the average human still deep down does have a small light of burning compassion. Its our job I guess to try and give that flickering light more oxygen and more fuel, it then might burn brighter.
