30 Bananas a Day!

Hello!

I'm ready to finally end my extreme calorie restriction, but I have NO access to really any fruit. Will increasing with starch and maybe an apple or 2 today be good for my body?

How many calories per day to you usually eat, and from what sources?

How much exercise do you typically do in a day?

I'd rather not say, but it's been very very low. I am not exercising at the time but go on long walks (3-6 miles) daily.

All plant based! Mainly veggies, salad, and sweet potatoes. maybe some fruit if I can get some

Ok well, low fat high carb vegan is where it's at. You know that much. So now you just need to up the intake. Fruit is best, but it sounds like you are having a tough time getting ahold of them, so yeah starches are going to be great! Sweet potatoes are fantastic, jasmine rice is fantastic, add some salad and steamed veg and you'll be living like a queen.  Fat makes you fat, fruit and starches will not. As long as you've ditched the oils and processed foods, you're in the clear to eat to your heart's content. I looked at some of your previous activity on 30bad and you seem to be very focused on your weight/body shape, and you appear to be very fearful of weight gain.  Honestly just let that shit go. It will all work out perfectly if you stay low fat, whole foods vegan. You just please have to begin eating enough. Aim for the +2,500 mark from carbs. This is not very much food Hailey and I'm sure you can do it. Fruit quality is less than ideal where I am in Massachusetts right now and so I often opt for those huge cans of peaches in syrup for a nice 600 calorie hit per can. Big on carbs, but low on micronutrients so I make sure to also eat lots of fresh salads and a quality vegan multi vitamin once per week too.  Increasing your overall calories from whole food vegan carbs will be very good for your body. Calorie restricting will always be bad for your body. I've been in this lifestyle a long time Hailey and the one thing I've learned above all is that the body always wins. It always wins. Yeah sure you can restrict with your own self dicipline for a certain amount of time, but no matter what, your body is going to eventually overwhelm you with hunger cravings, and believe me, you WILL give in. And when people get to that point, they often don't give a f&$k if the food they eat is vegan or healthy. That is the importance of not letting things get to that point, and instead forming consistent healthy eating habits NOW. You know how to do this don't you? Vegan, whole foods, low fat, high carb, +2,500 calories. So stop postulating and go do it. :)

Most definitely you can end calorie restriction on a starch based diet! :D

The key is to track your intake of fat and calories on cronometer to make sure your fat is at 10% or below and to make sure you are eating enough calories to get enough nutrients to be healthy.  Learn many more details in Aloha to 30BaD's Welcome Wagon!

Quality fruit and tender greens are the best food, what we humans evolved to eat but it is not the only way to eat. Eating low fat cooked carbs will give you high energy, healthy weight balance, make you heart attack proof, reverse diabetes type 2, heal acne, many digestive issues, cancer and the list goes on and on.  There are some with serious digestive issues that can only eat fruits but you do not sound like you are in that category.  And apples are awesome! :D
