30 Bananas a Day!

Hi All,

I'm still new to 811. I'm 23 days in and going strong. I just got into dates the passed 2 weeks and I find myself reaching for them A LOT. How many is too many in one day?? I'm on 811 to heal from cancer so I need to know if I should be sticking with fruits that have more water in them?? Fruits with more of a cleansing value? Or should I just listen to my body?? I can go through about 3 lbs in 3/4 days...For some reason, I am feeling guilty when I eat them, like I'm cheating or something. Thoughts on this anyone??

WOW!! Great advice and detail. Thank you so much. I have been thinking about how to best make this work for me, and came to the conclusion that it would have to be bananas and dates consistently for calories, and dates when bananas are not ready yet. Much appreciated.
I just got my first box of organic bananas from Whole Foods and it was $32 with the 10% bulk discount--not bad. I've been making smoothies with a big handful of mixed baby greens, 5-6 bananas, 6 dates and a pear! It's like 1100 calories I think and it's delicious!

I love adding the dates last!

Its like having mini toffe bombs in your smoothie.....soooooo good :)

Great advice about the water too!

Try buying as many dates(and/or bananas) as possible versus lower calorie water dense(meaning water takes up lots of weight) fruits in bulk. Dates are worth far more for your dollar in term of calories. Once you have enough dates and bananas to give you a good amount of calories, I recommend then you look about how much money you have left, and then buy greens and a variety of other fruits to get a diverse amount of nutrients.
Great suggestion! Thanks! Will do.

Correct me if Im wrong MM but you've got CANCER and your trying to save money on your health? Your complaining about an extra few 10$ notes a week? LOL!

My friends in Cairns, Australia that DONT have cancer pay 23$US a lb for dates there.

You need a MAJOR shift in your life priorities girl!

DR, I'm doing the best I can with what I have. I am not complaining but grateful for the food I have. I'm a stay-at-home mom on a budget who's fighting cancer. That's REALITY. This comment is more harmful than helpful.
i read that in the quran (the islam holy book) they consider that no cancer grows if you eat dates. they are specifically treasured by the arab world so they have the most folk uses and info on them.
I read that too, but you can't always believe everything you read on the internet, so I wasn't completely sold on it.
This has been discussed on my blog #2...in the comments section.
Wow, I'm really starting to appreciate California's prices!  I thought $11 for a 13 pound box of oranges were a little pricey (which they can be found cheaper...)!

Mangoes are in season right now here in Florida. We scored a ton off of a neighbor's tree just by knocking on the door and asking. He even said he'd give us a mango sprout the next time one shoots up :)

Big, beautiful hayden's!
