I have always thought starting light (like watermelon) was a good gentle way to slowly get your digestive system moving, and as the day goes on you can move up to heavier foods, and the day should end on the thing that takes longest to digest (the high calorie fruits or vegetables).
But, I know there are a lot of people that start the day with dates or bananas immediately. Do you guys think it makes much of a difference? What do you do?
My personal philosophy is to have a hearty breakfast (often a green smoothie for me) but not TOO heavy. Then have the biggest/heaviest meal at lunch, then have a good dinner that isnt too heavy, so it doesnt keep you up late or interfere with sleep.
