30 Bananas a Day!

hey everyone!  so, i have been vegetarian for almost 20 years, i am 34, female, seemingly healthy, but after after 2 kiddos, i found out that i have congenital adrenal hyperplasia.  i have had this all my life, it is inherited, and it explains some of the stuff that i have gone through over the years.  i have had cystic acne as a teen, little breast development, hormone issues, hypothyroidism (even though i am thin),  hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia.  so, yeh, i thought that i was healthy.  it all adds up.  however, thanks to a vegetarian diet, my endocrinologist was happy to see that i haven't fallen into the same trap as others with CAH.  so, my intuition lead me back to a raw lifestyle, but not the one i followed 8years ago .  :(   thank goodness for some education on 811.

 

i have been 811 for 3 months and decided to have my doc do some blood work.  here it is...

 

glucose  71mg/dl

BUN 3mg/dl   *flagged as low, but is thanks to the diet

creatinine  0.53 mg/dl

sodium  139 mEq/l

potassium  4.0 mEq/l

chloride  104 mEq/l

CO2  32 mEq/l

calcium  9.1 mg/dl

protein  6.6 g/dl

albumin  4.1g/dl

eGFR 140 ml/min   *this one i need to do some research on it is high

cholesterl  91 mg/dl

triglycerides  74 mg/dl

HDL  44mg/dl

LDL  32 mg/dl

risk factor  2.1 mg/dl

TSH  1.07 ulU/ml  *no more hypothyroidism*

b12  918pg/ml

vit D  54ng/ml

folic acid  21.3ng/ml

iron  67 ug/dl

 

plus, i had hemoglobin, WBC, RBC and more, all of which were normal. 

 

so, here i am a raw mama raising two raw little girls 4 and 2 (they have a blended diet with some cooked food when they request it), but they love good food. 

 

now i have proof that it is all GOOD!

Were you taking any supplements?

i do take 2000mcg b12 everyother week, vitamin d on the days when i know that the new england weather isn't cooperating with my need for sunshine and ashwaganda for my adrenals.  that's it. 
Those are some great results.  I envy those cholesterol numbers.   I've been 100%, mostly 955 for 18 months (veg/vegan since birth) and am far from the poster child for cholesterol and triglycerides.   And your B12 level from only a couple oral(I assume) doses a month is outstanding, even an injector would be envious.   If you don't mind, which B12 product do you use?
I'm curious what our cholesterol is. Why do you think it is high?

i had to mention my blood tests to my family tonight.  i don't see them all the time, maybe every 3 mths and they always ask a ton of questions about what we ate for the day or what the kids have been eating.  so, tonight i brought up my results just to calm any concerns.  they are generally curious just for the sake that i am very different than them.  they usually aren't rude about it, but they have their moments.  :)

i take jarrows methylcobalamin b12 lozenge.  i have used it for years. 

oh, any thoughts on the eGFR being high?

 

I checked my labcorp results for eGFR and see there is no upper limit. The minimum is 60, so it seems just being 60 or higher is desired. Looking at wikipedia, you most likely had your eGFR calculated from creatinine, instead of a more direct way like insulin injection and urine insulin measurement.  The calculation is based on several factors, including assuming normal muscle mass, and other factors.   So if you have abnormal muscle mass, high or low, the calculation could be off.   In other words, I wouldn't worry about it unless you had a more accurate test and know about some upper limit.
