30 Bananas a Day!

I've always been very active, especially with running and cycling. This month, now that the weather is warming up (and I'm eating more fruit), I've been really increasing my running distances. The past few days, I've gotten blisters on my pinky toes... What should I do to recover as quickly as possible?

yeah, will set you free from the running shoe industry.  i dont want to just jump into the barefoot thing for fear of injury from being used to wearing regular running shoes for too long.  those running sandal things are inexpensive and last a long time i heard.  save money on shoes and buy more fruit, win!

Don't you just build up callouses?

Blisters eventually stop happening.
Don't wear any socks that have cotton content, make sure your feet aren't slipping in any way in your shoes, you can buy blister bandages that are like a silicone pad, however I found they often rubbed off, along with my skin and then I had a patch of raw skin with little protection from infection :/
I also used to wear fabric pads that would stay in place by looping around a toe they helped when I used to get hot spots and seemed to make blisters less likely to form.

I'm running in Kinvara 2's at the minute and they tend to give me blisters on my left little toe. When I'm doing long distances or the weather is hot, I'll wear 2 pairs of really thin clean socks with a super-liberal application of some sort of lub on the blister hotspots. Anti-chafe balm works better than vaseline in my opinion because it lasts longer. I also used to spray anti-persperant on my feet as this reduces sweating, which also causes blisters. Every little bit helps. If I'm really worried about it I'll just wrap my toe in duct tape.

I'm not really sure what you can do to speed up recovery, but if you really want to run again I would go with the duct tape lol

Try and wear toe-socks instead of the conventional ones if you're not wearing toe-shoes like vibram fivefingers and see if that helps?

I just remembered when I had blister issues I would put baby powder (cornflour) or my feet and that worked perfectly.
