I am planning to do this route soon. Any takers want to join with me? Any cyclist, Im not a pro or anything I only want to do it for fun (I am not planning any time, giving all the time needed). I have a friend to stay at once arrived in the lil town. The views and the weather will be beautiful, will need things like sunglasses, sun cover and helmet, in mid day take refuge (from harsh sun and tiny shadows). Whatever else you want to bring should be great, I will be bringing fruit and water of corse haha and when you get to Payson theres a spring and other National Forest activity, you will be able to indulge in all the Nature for free, Ciao!
Im a bit of a noobie in this, I am running 39/53 crank and 14T-25T back cassette. I don't know where wed start/meet up, it'll be about 100 miles(fairly easy, doable and comfortable), but Ive herd its not an easy trail. Head towards Fountain Hills than on up the Beeline Highway for about 60 miles (where its ups and downs through the mountains). I would plan on getting there an staying there for a bit because riding back may not be as desirable! What are you thinking? The way its set up as of now is adventure style and open endedness. Tell me what you think! Thanks for your interest and reply!
Sounds good, man well when is the best time for you than or what day? This will be the longest ride and the most elevation (hills up hill and down hill) I have ever done, so my goal is making it comfortably and healthful with a smile rather than racing to it like a fiend haha.
May! I was thinking within the next 2 weeks. :D If its ran by me again than I will probably be able to go (in May). Well just have to keep tabs on each other a bit. :)
Well we can mark May 3rd. I can contact you if I need to cancel for whatever reason and vice versa. If not we ll be talking to each other near that date for preparation. :) What say you?
so you would need to be back on monday? In that case we may want to find a ride back on sunday (we may be able to) unless we bike back which would make it 200 miles for the weekend :O which I wasn't planning on that rigorous gnardom! ha
soo about this.. is this still on? If it is we may have a couple things to talk about. And its gunna be gnar gnar cuz itll be 3000 elevation gain over 65 miles.
