30 Bananas a Day!

Hi all,

I am starting a new job soon, and am going to be working from home. I'm looking at the possibility of moving out of the midwest, and was wondering what cities in the US are best for high-carb vegans? I'd like warm weather, good places for cycling, lots of good fruit, and other like-minded people!

I was looking at Long Beach, but I'm not sure if the safer parts are affordable. I've seen a lot of people talking about Austin lately as well.

Thanks!

It's cold where I live so I can't help you there, BUT I am SUPER interested in being able to work remotely for just those reasons. Can you share how you got this position?

Thanks!!!!

Unfortunately, I can't offer much advice. The position was offered to me by someone I met while working at a previous job in an IT field.

I live in Phoenix, Arizona. It's very warm here, it does not snow, and our summers are hot (up to 116F ). That may sound scary, but you would learn to love the sun. The sun is magnificent and even I, a porcelain fruity girl does not burn in the summer because of antioxidant rich berries. Fruit is plentiful here, and the best part is, it's very CHEAP compared to the rest of what I've seen across the United States. We have tons of hiking; our mountains are not covered with trees unfortunately but there are miles upon miles of trails to keep you interested. I see cyclists everywhere, all of the time. There's quite a few of us Phoenicians in the Viva Arizona section on here. Phoenix is quickly expanding and it is the fifth largest city in the US now, which makes it an up and coming modern metropolis. Job outlook is excellent.

Sedona, AZ, a two hour car drive north of Phoenix is an ideal location for those who are heavily into the mind-body-spirit health interconnectedness. Sedona is home to beautiful gigantic Red Rock that people flock to from around the world, for good reason. :) I'll let you research that reason on your own.

Long Beach, and anywhere SoCal is also a good option, however I'm clearly partial to my beautiful desert home, Phoenix. :)

My vote is either Southern California, Arizona, South Florida, or Hawaii
