I've ordered fruit online a lot and it does occasionally take longer than expected and rot in transit (not very often though, in my experience).
That being said, the burden is on them if the fruit arrives damages or spoiled. There are regulations that require them to give refunds or replacements if a certain percentage of the food is inedible. Just call or email them a picture and they will take care of it. They have definitely dealt with the problem before.
how can you tell if they are ripe ?!?
omgsh i've probly been eating unripe ones lol...
Some friends of mine just ordered from Bautista and they're having the same problem.
I ordered from them last year when they were fully ripe and delicious. We had no problem but I've heard this more than a few times this year.
I would send them an email. I received all 13 pounds of mine & only 3 pounds are "edible" & even those ones have to be eaten crunchy ( I don't mind). The rest were rotted and covered in mold. They appear to rot as they ripen too.
They gave me an offer of a refund or store credit. i took a store credit cause I will buy their dried dates later on (I've had nothing but good luck with those!)
Anyone know why this is?
I bought some from a little store down my street & hey taste so soft and gooey and amazing!
