I think it's pretty good. I'm in Ontario and pay $28 for non-organic. I plan to change this very very soon!
As far as dates go I'm not sure. We buy the dried ones from the bulk store and just soak them for hours.

I can't find any wholesalers around here, so I buy from our local Food Basics grocery store. Soon I will be buying from a store called Gentle Rain.
