30 Bananas a Day!

My wife and I went to friends for lunch last week.

We knew they were making us a rice dish.

When we got them they were full of bacon ;-(

I said did they know we were Vegetarian / Vegan(me)?

The wife said yes and we could leave the bacon. I felt like leaving it altogether but being polite we both picked out the bacon and ate the rest.

My wife still eats Salmon in bought Sushi (even though I moan about it!) but we both felt pretty stink about what we'd been offered. It was very thoughtless by the hosts.

yikes.  i would have not eaten and opted for tea or something while the others ate.

these corpse eaters have blinders on!  they do not see the slime, grease and guts nor the bacteria, virus' and parasites their murderous, environmentally destructive choices leave behind while it traumatizes those that can see the reality of it all!  i feel for ya bro!

Your friends were very thoughtless - I would mention that to them. I would have politely declined although I understand that may have offended the host.  I would ask your friends would they offer the same dish with the  bacon to Jewish friends (if they happened to place themselves in such a situation).

Next time you and your wife are invited to dinner I would educate the host in advance - ring them and maybe give them a few items as to what foods are acceptable. Whenever I'm invited to dinner I make sure to educate the host a little if they don't know me all that well. Many people just don't seem to get the concept of no diary and fish. Even people who know me reasonably well still ask 'do you eat fish?' or 'how about cheese? even though they know I'm vegan. Usually though it works out well as hosts often make a little more effort and have a number of dishes to choose from.

I would invite your friends over for dinner and make a number of vegan dishes so they realise that no animal products have to used to make food delicious. This may open up their minds a little. Maybe you can discuss why you are vegan and what it entails.

That's disgusting.

1) Don't do things that compromise your morals for social approval

2) Why are you even eating with meat eaters? Raise your standards

Re 2) They're our friends and they've done more for people in the world (one is a doctor who's worked for decades with the poor) than you're ever likely to do.

How old are you Jacob? 12?!

You type like you are.
