30 Bananas a Day!

Good day. I have been trying to wwoof for about 6 months or so now. In any other situation it would be really easy to do so there being so many organic farms out in this world. A farm that is wiling to support a raw foodie has been a rather challenging task to complete. I almost had a farm set up in Hawaii but turns out they support the use of ghee butter. I actually had plans to wwoof at a small scale up and coming organic farm on the outskirts of Orlando Florida but that farm ended up cancelling on me on my drive down. I continued on the road and ended up finding a place to stay at in St. Pete for the time being. Been here a month and a half now still looking for vegan farms that will support my lifestyle and have found no luck yet. Have been in touch with a few farms and waiting to hear back. I am in search of anyone that has actually wwoofed and stayed raw that can give me any recommendation. A tropical place is very ideal. I know that it is possible I just have to meet the right connection. So if anyone has done so and can give me some guidance it would be very much appreciated. I cannot stay where I'm at forever and am looking to get a change of scenery in the near future. Hawaii would be nice but wwoof doesn't show very many vegan friendly farms there. Thank you for taking the time to read and I'm very hopeful that someone can assist me. Take care and stay well. I love you all.

I was able to stay raw at Frank's farm in Costa Rica. However, it costs to stay there and he doesn't pay for your food. I think we payed 300 a month, 150 per person...I think he was considering raising it though. He has unlimited bananas on the farm as well as biribas, citrus...some other fruits in the right seasons. So you could eat pretty cheaply. He lives close to San Isidro which has the best farmers market of the country and he goes there weekly with a jeep so you can pick up whatever else you need.

We had an awful experience at a previous farm in Costa Rica so it was worth it to just fork over some cash and not go completely under-carbed crazy.

Frank is a bit of an odd ball with some temper, I should warn. Walter, the lead gardener there, is really cool and is attempting a raw food diet but could really use some guidance.

There's lots of fruit trees, as I said, a large fruit forest. The garden, which requires the most work, seems to be mostly ornamental- as in it's not very efficient. So I can't say it's the most rewarding work but maybe it's gotten better.

Thank you for the insiders information Ruby. I would absolutely love to wwoof in Costa Rica and I was curious about a database for organic farms across seas from the U.S. For the time being I am trying to spend as little money as possible so I will continue to search for a farm willing to supply room and food without any charge. If it comes down to it and I must vacate where I'm currently at I will most certainly invest some time into your recommendation. Again, thank you.

Hey Kyle,

I just replied to your private message.

We should be able to work out something!
