Awwwww. I was thinking the same thing.. Hoping someone knew bout this. Oh well, there is sooo much fresh fruit now, I think we can survive :) I did get some from my health food store and even on amazon... I talked to the company and they say they are raw... but I'm not sure the company is 'United with Earth'.http://www.amazon.com/United-Earth-Organic-16-Ounce-Containers/dp/B...
Not sure if ^that ^ is gonna work??? But you can just go to amazon and type in dates and they come up.... Anyone here know if they are aw and fresh really?????
Bautista dates will be back at the end of August. Until then I have ordered three 15# cases of Khadrawy from Shields and am very happy with them. With shipping it's about $3.40 a pound for me while on special. They aren't certified organic but do grow them chemical free as you can see when you read their story on their website.
Recently I have been ordering organic Zahidi dates from medjooldates.com.
You can get an 11 lb box for only $29 plus shipping and they are sweet and moist. I'm actually eating them right now, and I'd have to say that these are probably my favorite of all the dates I've tried so far.
I had previously ordered the 4-variety sampler, but the medjool dates were a bit dry and did not compare to the ones grown at Bautista farms. The other dates (dayri and halawi) in the sampler were OK but I'm just not a big fan of those varieties.
Here is the link to their 'Organic Date Varieties' page:
I do not know whether or not they are steamed. Please let us know once they send their reply.
I just ordered these organic dayri dates, with shipping it comes to $3.72/lb. Never tried this variety before. We'll see!
