I will start fasting in about 2 weeks and as I have some experience in doing it (with self-made vegetable soup, teas and self-made juices etc.) I want to fast for at least 3 weeks (my longest periode has been 3 weeks). Are there more people that have experience with long-time fasting and can give some advice and tipps? :) Did you make a blood-test before? I am eating a pretty clean diet, cleaner than ever in my life, since about 1,5 years...mostly vegetables and fresh fruit, more than 50% raw, vegan, beans, lentils, brown rice as add-on and mostly low fat.
After the long fasting period I want to go on one day per week fasting, to keep my weight (I have about 10 kilos to loose).
Thanks for any advice :)
ive done 21 day water fast, 17 day water fast etc all by myself.
The most important thing is eat 100% raw fruit and greens before you do the fast. It is 1000% easier to fast after you have eaten that way.
Are you doing water fast or are you doing juices and stuff when you are fasting? remember fasting is nothing but water
Oh okay, sorry for the misunderstanding; in Germany they call it fasting even when you drink 1 glass of juice + 1 bowl of soup per day.
I wish I would have the money to go to a treatment center for a real waterfast, but I don't. Hmm I guess I have to safe money then :-)
I'd pay attention to this, "We also absolutely do not support fasting as a method of weight control or weight loss." I tried a one day orange juice fast followed by a one day food fast before new year and it took me a week of trying to eat about 5000 calories per day to feel right again. It was pretty horrible and afterwards it it did nothing for my weight loss. I do not plan to do it again. I'm pretty persuaded by DR's assertion that you only need to fast if you're eating the wrong foods. I don't have long-term experience though.
In Germany they also call it Fast if you eat only raw fruits and vegetable. LOL
I have done 40 day water fast. Fasting should not be done for weight loss. I never have paid someone for supervision ,but I have done fast off and on since I was a teenager. if you are not use to fasting or have been involved with drugs or eating disorders then please only do short term fast.
A lot of people are against fasting because they hear horror stories or have never experience water fasting.
If you can afford it a good fasting retreat would be good, but it is not a necessary thing.
rest as much as you can and drink enough water.
