I've tried to transition into the HCRV lifestyle for a while now but there's always one thing that gets in the way.. life.
I spend at least 2 hours a day commuting, 20 hours of class/lab a week and have on average 5-7 hours of sleep a night. I try but I can't find the appropriate time to dedicate to eating slowly and cleanly or even sleeping.
Plus it's winter right now and all the fruits are ridiculously expensive..
Any wise words?
I really want to do this properly, I just need someone to point me in the right direction
Spend the winter on bananas and dates and lettuce and/or celery, get cases of dates on-line for best price. Shield's promotions are cheap and chemical free.
A college student's schedule here for a great example of using your time wisely!
I second the the use of smoothies!
Im a science double major, have a couple of jobs, and run everyday. Smoothies are fast and portable! I usually make them with bananas (very inexpensive), strawberries and orange juice. If I need to though, I will have a meal of pasta with low fat/low sodium sauce.
bananas and oj are one of the worst combos, you will not get the nutrition you need eating that way.

Im a university student but at the moment Im only enroled in 3 classes becuase of my late acceptance and enroll but I buy alot of frozen fruits especialy cherries and blueberries. I just make hot tea in the morning dump my fruits in a bowl and pour the tea on top to thaw them than drink my cold tea and chow down blueberries are good for memory so i love to eat them before a test and cherries are good for sleep so I like to eat them before bed. If you buy frozen fruits in bulk you dont have to worry about them spoiling or not eating them in time just thaw time sucks unless you dont mind cold tea in the cold morning after a hot shower! Good luck!!
