How quickly did you drop down to that dosage? I would take it very very slow. I personally do believe that this lifestyle has the potential to cure depression and anxiety, but if your body is used to the medication, you really need to taper it off slowly and give your body the chance to adjust.
Also- have you addressed all other aspects of your life besides just the food? Are you getting sun every day? Are you getting enough sleep? Enough water? Enough calories? Enough exercise? Could you be B12 or vitamin deficient? I would taper off slowly and pay attention to all of these factors to see if there may be a winning formula of these things that also let you do well as opposed to the medication.
Hey Rebecca I was on 20mg for about 10 years, then in January I went to 10mg, and then 3 months ago I went on 5mg. I feel good on 20mg, and this lifestyle and I mean REALLY GOOD. I guess I was hoping this lifestyle could cure my depression but it doesnt seem of done that just yet... Sun, yep 20-30 mins a day, cardio 3-4 times a week, walk most days and eat 2.5K-3K high carb low fat 80 10 10. Yes B12 might be an issue, will look into this. x Thanks
If you have to take something, why not take the lesser evil and go for homoeophatic one or don't you have them available in your country?
i've heard that the British Monarchy from the old late Queen Mom down to prince Charles and the rest of them have always been using them (if that's of any help and if you deem them rolemodels of health and sanity).
Remember the Queen MOM lived till over 100 and Queen Elizabeth is 88 and still going strong.
I should think that the royalty get the 'best' medical advise possible.
I have an instinctive feeling backed by a lot of experience of my own or others',that the doctors USE us 'common' people mercilessly just as Guinea pigs for their crazy drugs. The drugs work AGAINST the human system.Rather be a bit crazy or odd,but human, what's wrong with that?Be as depressed as you want and eat juicy fruits and CTFU and see if you are able to maintain constant depression or if you start seeing the gloomy clouds lifting one by one and an occasional ray of sunshine blasting you dizzy. It would be hard NOT to see the good side of things with proper nourishment in one's brain and cells.
In the meantime just choose to be odd as long as they do not commit you to a strait jacket or loony bin.
Most people who are big time into fruits forget to worry about their oddness as their formerly too weak nerves are not giving them constant false readings about themselves and others.
Thanks Meadow flower
I am angry, and sad not just a bit odd. I am struggling to function as normal. I know the doctor will just tell me to go back on a normal 20mg dose of Citalopram. Its frustrating. perhaps it will take a bit longer on this lifestyle to be able to come off these meds.
