30 Bananas a Day!

Paul sent me a message saying he didn't recommend the bananas. He said he worried I was eating too many and said it was very dangerous because of sugar/fermentation. He said if I'm feeling better it's probably because I've been eating less than I ever have before (which is true).

I'm sort of alarmed because so far everyone's told me a banana mono-diet was great to heal colitis. I know I'm feeling better, and I can tell I'm healing when I go to the bathroom.

Paul recommended that I eat blended salads, drink nut milk, use a probiotic and take enzymes a half hour before eating anything. I could just as easily do this regimen as bananas.

wow Mario, harsh man...but funny...lol. Not buying anything yet, and not diverging from what's working, and the bananas are working. Very interested in your paper;)
lol...woops. Now Mario, I'll be expecting that paper young man. :P
paul nisan has tried 811 and he said he it didn't work for him. he is apparently good friends with doug. i have also read his book. i have stopped snacking and eating past 6pm and have felt much better, though,i still love my bananas. we can all benefit from raw foodists with one or two things i think. everything is just a theory so go by results you get.
that's called Synthesis - taking the BEST of EVERYTHING - good girl
Hi Crabby,
if the Bananas are working for you, then that is what matters.
There are many different views on what constitutes the 'perfect' raw diet. But in the end, what is important is what works for you.
I think the 'too much' is very subjective, and we need to focus on 'just right' rather than 'too much'.
If the amount of Bananas that you are eating, allows your body to heal; then I can't see that this would be 'too much'.
We are all responsible for our own health, and while other people can be inspirational, they can never really know how we feel and what makes us feel the best.

I have not tried a Banana mono diet, but have got great results on other mono fruit diets.

Have a peachy one,
Love and peace ♥xx.
I agree...well my body does and so I do. I'm not eating 30 or 40 per day...more like 15-20, which may not be enough for some folks but I'm not doing much heavy exercising...plus I kinda feel like the less I eat, the better for the time-being at least...so my body can heal:)
Hey I can see this is a big part of why you are 'searching' for other alternatives Crabs.....You will get massive healing on 30 or more bananas, its easy to start to limit cals in an attempt to speed recovery but the body has its own agenda and it really is dedicated to keeping you alive so after a while you will backslide into cravings leading to undesirable food choices....nip it in the butt now before the cravings take over....
Smoothies are great for getting the cals up....
Thanks Kathleen, I appreciate your approach. So far I've been listening to my body and it's told me it's grateful for the rest and the time to heal. I'm so glad you guys are telling me the same thing my body is:)
yeah I thought it was a bit "alarmist", not to mention the fact that my doctor had me on probiotics and this and that and I never healed. What I'm looking forward to is the fruit I'm gonna dive into after bananas.
awesome Xerxes:)
Well, he's written several books on the raw lifestyle, he owned the largest raw restaurant in NY, he's pretty well-known and he came highly recommended.

And yes, he's probably much healthier than I am. I wouldn't mind having his life/quality of life and he probably is a millionaire (he's worth more than me, that's for sure).

To Paul's credit, he was a very nice guy. He approached me and asked me to call him. He didn't charge me a dime. He also wanted me to let him follow up and tell him how I do on the bananas, and if I'm successful he'll learn something, or words to that effect.
Nice guy but its about whats best for your health Crabs :-)
