30 Bananas a Day!

Just got my blood results back and I am anemic.

Doctor is wanting me to take 325mg of Iron Sulfate 2 times a day on an empty stomach with OJ.

Should I do this?  Anyone else have this issue and fixed it?

History: I have been vegetarian for 12 years, vegan about 1 year and 80/10/10 3 months.

I didn't know that, sorry. I've taken Organic Spirulina on occasion and never thought it could be dangerous, sorry.

Blackstrap molasses does work. I was a "French fry" vegetarian for awhile. The molasses helped get my iron levels back up. I don't personally take it daily, but would use it over pills.

 Does anyone feel that this might help with my low hemoglobin type of anemia? I'm just at the threshold of being sufficient but not quite there. 133g/L range is 135-170.

 My ferritin is 134 ug/L, normal range is 80-300.

 B-12 is 280, supplement free. Sufficient range here in Ottawa is 220 and above.

 Although I have hemorrhoids that bleed a tiny, tiny bit, I have a clean looking digestive system as per the endo and colonoscopies I just did.  

 I wish they did blood tests here like what Harley gets in his vids. It seems I'm missing a lot of info in mine compared to his.

just hade blood tested again and levels were about the same (actually a bit lower)  I have been faithful about blackstrap molasses, parsley and spinach smoothies and peas.  All with oranges or yellow bell peppers for Vit C.  I have no clue what to do next....and my hair is falling out

 I hate to say this here, but go see your doctor, you may need different types of tests other than simple blood tests in my view.

 Do you use www.cronometer.com ? If your hair is falling out, it may be a symptom that you are not eating enough, or not getting enough protein in your diet from what you are eating. The good news is, at least for me, after smashing about 25 bananas, 6 Yukon gold potatoes, and 1 cup of baked beans. You'll hit almost all the protein targets in that list.

 You could just be getting old too! :P

 Most of all don't stress about all these blood test numbers. They're important but how you feel is much more important! Do you wake up well and ready to enjoy another day most days? Do you have the strength and energy for a walk or your favorite activity? If so, then likely you are fine!

 People are like plants, and some bloom bigger and brighter than others and it's not a big deal if we don't I figure.

I started on iron supplements an feel whole lot better ofcause i take them with vit c .
