Amazing new rare-fruit documentary starring actor Bill Pullman as himself, has just been uploaded to youtube! Watch now before it's removed! Originally aired as a 2 part series on the Canadian TV series for documentaries, "The Nature of Things with David Suzuki":
The Fruit Hunters:
Part 1: The Evolution of Desire
Part 2: Defenders of Diversity (LA makes some cameo ap-pear-ances in Part 2, including Food Forward the non-profit volunteer org that harvests home fruit trees for food banks.)
According to the original film's fb page the 2 part series is "very different" from the original but "a perfect compendium" to it. The original has yet to be uploaded online or wide-released. The original film is based on the 2008 non-fiction book The Fruit Hunters: A Story of Nature, Adventure, Commerce, and Obse.... Here's a great vid interview w/ the author about the book: part 1 & 2.
Thank you, interesting info :D
Thanks - I just watched part 1. I think my dream job is to be a rare fruit hunter - imagine getting paid to do that!
Thank you!! Am reading the book now, (absolutely worth reading), and wanted to see the film as well!
Great post thanks!
Thanks. Was not aware of this.
Great Dr. Suzuki a real Canadian.
Unlike many of the others who think they are by drinking bear and wearing a hockey jersey.
He just needs to lose the fish eating bs.
Hawaii sure has it advantages.
Pretty crazy to learn that a Cavendish can produce a seed.
