30 Bananas a Day!

Hey guys,

I know that a lot of you use dates as a clutch during the winter or anytime. I already eat a lot of bananas, but I was wondering if there was a different main food to eat during the winter time or any time. I'm alright with bananas, but its difficult to use them when they need to be ripe to make your tummy feel happy. I eat a lot of oranges already too. I don't seem to be eating enough still. Sooo, are there any alternatives to eating dates?

I've started eating more dried figs, too.  I soak them for an hour.  Nice change, now and then, from dates.  They're also very alkaline, I've heard.  Raisins, too.

A fig at it's peak ripeness plucked straight off the tree tastes like the worlds most amazing strawberry pie with a creamy sweet icing. No where near as good as the dried soaked counterpart ;)

I would also suggest persimmons!

kiwis (should be ripe! just put them next to bananas and they be ripe in no time) are also a nice addition in winter

They are very sweet. Can be hydrated as well... Just put them into a dehydrator and you get very sweet and filling food.

You mean crutch right? Where I'm from clutch has a different meaning(not referring to the one you'd find in a car). Winter has always been tough for me, If you can get your hands on a steady cheap supply I would eat as much persimmons as you can they are divine. Or you can do what I do and go to the tropics for winter, a habit I just started.

The key is to buy the unripe ones every 3 days as much as you need and then a few more for guests and spurts of extra activity. You gotta plan in advance and stay ahead of the game to be successful on 811rv.  And of course having dates as a back up is extremely helpful.  Raisins can work provided you get them from the right source, not oil coated and sprayed with pesticides and remember to brush and floss every time you eat them!  a good source here: http://www.rawfromthefarm.com/Pages/SunDriedFruit.aspx

Thanks :] that helps a lot. I'm currently in college and have to have a meal plan (and don't have a car) so I'm just getting my food from the school. I do track my food on chronometer, that's how I know I'm not eating enough, but my school keeps on running out of bananas and honeydews, and recently oranges too. I told them in advance on how much I eat, they said they could accomadate me, but so far I haven't been getting enough food from them. I'm going to talk to the manager today and ask him if I can just order fruit through them and keep it in their fridge.

What kind of dates have you been eating? I'm personally sick of medjool and crazy for deglet noors, halawy, and khadrawy.

I think they're medjool dates that I've gotten. The ones that I have now aren't labeled... maybe I'll try a different one. Idk where to find them though. There was only these at my local food store
