brushing teeth = toothbrush, dry, no toothpaste, water to rinse
soap = only for hands, hemp
shaving products = kiss my face, unscented, or plain soap as above
hair products = water, tiny squeeze of lemon from time to time NO POOH
dishwasher = water only
clothes washing = soap nuts, that break down, and give a bit of suds, and last a loooong time, very affordable
for extra power in the wash - oxygen bleach with hydrogen peroxide
Is there nothing harmless you can use in the dishwasher to have more effect than water?
I've tried baking powder and 24% vinegar but the baking powder seems to accumulate in the dishwashers tray rails.
I have a homemade citrus (GF) peel cleaner. Will try it (but I don't think I managed to make it very potent.)
Seventh Generation has a dishwashing detergent which works well and is unscented - it has "Free and Clear" on the label. PETA identifies them as a company which is all vegan and doesn't test on animals.
I just looked up the Soap Nuts, thank you so much for sharing! Going to order! :)
Here's what I use:
Teeth- Ecodent Tooth Powder in mint- or you can make your own with baking soda and maybe a little peppermint essential oil :)
Soap- totally natural veggie and coco oil soap from a local health market
Hair- Morrocco Method shampoos/conditioners (raw vegan haircare). Totally recommend them, not affiliated.
Shaving- Same as above, they are multifunctional products
I have taken to washing up with a squirt of cheap bottled lemon juice or lime juice. Works a treat if you wash up straight after using your plates and dishes. PS I am fully raw. Don't know have it would go with oily or starchy foods on pots and pans
Also I have taken to cleaning my teeth with Baking Soda and dabbing bi-carb under my arm pits as a deodorant. Surprisingly it really seems to work.
For teeth, I just use water.
For washing hands and dishes I use Seventh Generation's Free and Clear Natural Dish Liquid. They have Free and Clear detergents for laundry and dishwashers too, but I hand wash dishes and even clothes using their Dish Liquid for simplicity.
For shaving, I use hair conditioner yet I'm not sure if that would work for a man's face. Tom's of Maine makes shaving creams and I used to use an unscented one that worked well.
I use Magick Botanicals Oil Free Shampoo and Conditioner as well as their hair gel. You can order a sampler pack from them online to spend less money initially trying them out.
