what can you say to people who keep saying animals AND plants feel the same when we eat them? who are we to say a lettuce does not feel as much as a cow, is the answer i get.
for me it is so obvious but for my husband ... he cannot understand why i don't want to give my child meat and fish. i told him even if animals would not feel anything i would not eat that, because it putrifies in your body,
your body is physiological not made to eat meat, fish, ...
can anybody help me with some good replies to say to people who keep boring me with their answers? thanks a lot.
i've heard this a lot - the 'well don't you think that lettuce screams when you pick it?' i don't know how to reply that other than the, if left alone long enough in a room with only lettuce & a cute bunny rabbit, are you more likely to kill the bunny and eat it raw or pick some lettuce and munch that...
it wasn't very effective unfortunately.
i don't have a retort about greens - fruit and nuts are simpler to defend, the plant/tree/shrub isn't harmed when you pick fruit up off the ground that has fallen, or pick berries etc.
i'm sure someone has something good here :)
