30 Bananas a Day!

I'm going to flying from Miami to L.A. next week. I would like to bring a bag of dates and possibly grapes with me in my carry-on backpack. Will they allow me to pass through with the fruits? I know their strict about water bottles, but what about fruit?

I brought dates in my carry-on during my last trip from CA to NY about a month ago. Didn't have any problems.
I think you should be fine. When I fly to the states from Hawaii, I have never been able to bring fresh fruits on the plane. Its because of the laws with produce and plants that come into Hawaii might have critters on them that are foreign to the mainland or Hawaii. You have to fill out a form on the plane if you are claiming any thing like that. the first time it happened to me I had to throw a bunch of perfectly ripe apple bananas away before I got on the plane. Bummer. But if you are already in the 48 states I believe you can take em with you on the plane.

Yes; you can bring as much fruit as you want through airport security. The only restrictions are on liquids.

I've carried a duffel bag full of bananas/magoes/etc. onto a plane multiple times with no problems.

when if u bite on your really ripe persimmon and it EXPLORES?
when if u explore?

SWEEEET! What a life saver...

Now being on a natural hygiene diet/lifestyle my life is super simple now. I'm making a check list of things I need to bring with me and to my amazement it's incredibly short! Traveling light is amazing!

Oh and I've always hated the food on planes! Pretzels, peanuts, coke, or a tasteless sandwich...

Thanks fruit for saving my butt!

yip, I have never flown through the hawaii but lots of international flights. The usually routines is to eat it on the plane but once I walk of the plane I need to throw it away but this month I went through Singapore to India and was able to take large quanities of fruit in to each country. That felt very strange as I'm from NZ and we are very strict about fruit coming in to New Zealand. Little beagle dogs smell your bags to check for fruit and then they X-ray all your bags. But Nz will never be a transit country so that is nothing to worry about.

You know you can order a fruit platter or salad platter too ahh. It's not much food but better than nothing.

Am flying from Orlando to Phily next week and plan on taking lots of dates, dried fruit and some fresh. As long as you are in the states going from place to place they don't bother you. They get tight on bringing in stuff from international places for fear of people bringing in bugs or diseases.
What about travelling internationally, from US to Europe? Anyone know if I can take fruit on the plane? I was thinking some apples, grapes, etc for a long flight...

I only know that if you travel in europe for example from one country to another it is allowed to take fruits with you..  but one month ago I was with my dad in California (yeees, it was sooo great haha ;)) and I took peaches with me because of the long flight (12 houres) ... and then someone in the airplane told me that it was not allowed :( Finally we almost had to pay 1300 euros for those fruits!! (they would have been the most expensive peaches in my life hahaa ;D ..) but fortunately they made an exception ;)

But I think if you travell in America it should be no problem with the fruits ;)

All the Best ;))

We all are familiar with cherry bombs, but beware of those grape bombs...lol
