Just smile at all of the TSA agents and say "My doctor has me on a special diet!" :D
How are you going to carry them so they don't get smooshed? Oranges with the high water content and dates for their high calorie light weight, (you could pit them and mush them for easy consumption), may be better travel food. Do you have ripening bananas waiting for you in Virginia?
I have a box of yellow ones there now. But they won't be ripe until maybe Friday. But I like the special diet idea!
Nice planning! :)
My inspiration is a picture of a nice nerdy Indian man shaking his head side to side saying to everyone back and forth, "my doctor has me on a special diet", lol. ;)
If it's domestic, never had a problem. Carried bunches of bananas, grapes, tangerines, dates ect.. on many occasions. I've never carried THIRTY bananas though :)
If it's international, you can bring fruit on the plane, but will not be able to carry it through customs on the other side, so just eat it all on the plane, or discard any leftovers when you arrive.
