30 Bananas a Day!

I'm new to the lifestyle and have no problem giving up meat, milk, and eggs. However, when it comes to cheese that's my downfall. I read a study a bit ago about how you can become addicted to cheese and how it can give you a teeny "buzz" after you eat it. Although recently I've read about how bad for you cheese is and I really want to cut it from my diet for that reason and especially for of the dairy cows. I've tried cheese alternatives but they were pretty gross and mostly made of oil so not very healthy either. My main question is if anybody knows if there is a specific nutrient that I'm not getting enough of if I'm craving cheese? I have a plant based protein shake in the morning with almond milk and bananas and for lunch I usually have a coconut water smoothie with frozen berries, usually blueberries, and bananas. For dinner I'll have pasta or rice usually with potatoes. I thought maybe I haven't been getting enough greens so I've bought a ton of spinach and kale and I'll add in a green smoothie or a salad. Thanks for any help (:

what you're "not getting" is the casomorphine in the dairy. yes, morphine, as in the drug. Its in the dairy naturally to get the baby calf addicted to the mom's milk to keep drinking it since it's good for the cow, but thats why people get so addicted to dairy.

As for substitutes, I know Potatostrong.com has a "cheeze" sauce recipe that does use oil, just nutritional yeast (not recommended to eat often though). Here's another: http://www.onegreenplanet.org/vegan-recipe/raw-vegan-creamy-cheese/     High in fat from the nuts, but they're waaay better for you than oil, and waaaaaaaaay better for you than actual cheese.

Well that certainly explains it! Also, thank you for the recipes. It can be time consuming to sort through the good and the bad. I'll be sure to try those (:

Yeah that potato strong guy Will is a great resource for recipes for classic foods, but oil free and vegan. Remember there is a recipe for literally every animal product food, in vegan form. Buy Esselstyn or Barnard cookbooks and search online

Awesome. Thanks! The first article I read talked about a link with dairy and schizophrenia which I have so it really hit home. Next time I'm craving cheese, I'll read an article instead haha
I've found that guacamole completely satisfies any cheese cravings I've ever had. It is high in fat, but as an occasional indulgence, it really hits the spot.
I do love guacamole! I'll try that. Thanks

What halped me a lot was to get on youtube and watch videos about the dairy industry.  How they separate the calf and mother so early, seeing them both cry out.  I'm a father and to see that, it was like a slap in the face.

Agreed. I believe that the life of a sentient being is more important than my taste buds
