30 Bananas a Day!

Losing weight and getting really fit is like getting out of debt and becoming really rich. You need to make steady progress and keep consistent!

When people win the lottery they often piss away the money and end up going back into debt shortly after. When people go on a restrictive diet they lose the weight fast but then gain even more weight back shortly after!

To achieve lasting wealth and the sustainably beautiful body of your dreams, you need to ease off the gas, slow down and keep consistent. Nobody cares how fast you can make progress if you're just going to burn out and end up back in the chase pack.

3 Tips for Success (Don't skip #3!)

1) Set long term fitness goals.

Set specific goals for the next 5 years. Ink it, don't just think it! Actually write them down on paper... How much do you want to weigh? What kind of food will you be eating? How fast do you want to be able to do 500 squats?

In the same way successful businesses will set 20-30 year financial goals, you need to make your success YOUR BUSINESS and THINK LONG TERM with your health & fitness goals.

2) Make it a habit.

"First we form habits, then they form us." Whatever you can turn into a habit becomes effortless. Habits do not require willpower, and you do them automatically. Create helpful habits like waking up at 6am, doing your 100 Squats A Day, making a morning smoothie, eating raw, plant based meals throughout the day, and getting to bed by 8pm and soon you'll be doing them all without even thinking about it! You'll wake up alert and fresh at 6am, be inspired to workout and eat clean during the day, and you'll find yourself getting tired around 7:30pm automatically.

3) Act the part.

Your self image will ALWAYS determine your results. That's worth reading again: Your self image will determine the results you get in life. The "sloppy" person makes a mess without fail while the "organized" person stays neat and tidy no matter where they are. The "healthy" person can stay fit and trim effortlessly while the "fat" person can never seem to lose a pound. Why is this? This is due to the persons self image! The way you see yourself is the way you act. So label yourself the way you want to be!

Create your own identity and then act the part. Act, dress, think, and eat like your ideal self would. Talk to yourself in the way your ideal self would talk to themselves, and always keep your focus on your long term goals... which you first have to set! So go back and read #1.

Now, who's ready to do their 100 Squats and eat their 30 ripe bananas?

This is very helpful and motivating, Ted. Thanks :) needed to read this today.

Glad you benefited from this.
Read it again today, see if you can pick something out that you didn't see before!

Thanks again, Ted :D!! Didn't have time to actually do it last time, so am going to write things down now!! Been doing my 100 squats, sometimes 200 in a day. My squats goal is to get to 500 in a day by Christmas :). Right, about to write, then read a bit of 80/10/10 and off to bed!!

Keep being awesome :D you inspire me a lot.

Reminds me of running. Slow and steady wins the race. Eventually your slow and steady will be quicker then the next guys! Sometimes getting out there is all you needed to do. I started out by walking. people would ask how far how fast? I'd say meh I dunno i just set out for a nice 30 minute stroll in the sunshine each day sometimes I felt like longer but every day I went out and did that.

The world record times and the gold medal wins are always won by the runners who hold the most steady pace throughout the event. Each lap or ea mile/km is run at pretty much the exact same speed!

Consistency is KEY! Treat each day like a lap, and eat/perform as steady as the day before :)

Thanks, Ted! This really mirrors some of the thoughts I've been having lately as I am starting to form those good habits. After being raw for 6 months I have the eating habits well on their way, and the exercise is starting in that direction. Sometimes I feel like I haven't really changed all that much but I have realized that instant results aren't realistic to expect after years of less than stellar behavior! The shift is happening and I'm trying to be gentle but firm with myself at the same time.

Results can come on soooooooo slowly which is why it's SO easy to get fat, and SO hard to lose weight. At least at the beginning...

You gain weight at the rate of about 0.2lb per day, so it's hardly noticeble that you're getting fatter when you're eating crap food until a few weeks goes by and you see a photo of yourself or a friend comments on how much bigger you've gotten! The weight gain just kind of sneaks up on you!

You lose weight at about the same rate. So it can be very discouraging to not see any progress for the first little while. But hold fast, stay the course, and enjoy the process! Don't get so stuck on the product (the result) and just focus on the journey, the process. Eat your fruits with joy, workout with excitement and inspiration, and learn learn learn all you can from the best teachers this movement has to offer and follow whatever advice stands out for you.

All the best!

Thank you, and now, it's time for bed!!!

Check out some of these authors: Maxwell Maltz, Napolean Hill, Bob Proctor.

Youtube them, Amazon them, or just straight up Google them and read what they write!

'primate like diet where most carbohydrates and calories come from whole raw ripe fruits supplemented with about ½-2 heads of lettuce greens a day (not kale, chard, and spinach) and about a handful of raw nuts or seeds a day.'

This is posted on the main page of 30BAD, however, I don't understand why kale, spinach etc. are not recommended! Please could someone explain this to me?

kale, spinach, and chards can be hard to digest. it's best to eat them when they are baby. baby spinach, baby kale, baby chard, etc is A LOT easier to digest and is more tasty too :)

if you do have the more mature versions of these, it's best to blend them or juice them to enhance the digestibility.

For me especially number 2 is very important in creating successful life
