So I gave up coffee completely 2 months ago....while I feel some of the benefits (no jitters, better sleep) I am always tired and by 6pm I am ready for bed (read = caffeine-free is making me not want to do much of anything). I've heard stories of folks being filled with energy after quitting coffee, but I'm still waiting for that burst. Any words of encouragement??
Thanks in advance.
I can't offer much advice because I just gave up coffee two weeks ago. I love the freedom of not needing it. I have found my personality is better. I was only drinking one to two espresso drinks a day. However, for some reason it made me very edgy and easy to anger. I also experience more sleepiness. But I am also more mellow. I am going to increase my calories and water intake. Let me know if you want any support...
Quite true, Lala. It took me a long time to recognize that my anxiety was derived from coffee-drinking.
Hey Ren, caffeine causes sleep deprivation so you may just be extremely sllep deprived. It may take months of sleep to get caught up. Get to bed as early as possible, even if that is 6 pm for awhile if needed.
I really appreciate everyone's time in responding so heartfully with their thoughts and suggestions.
I believe my body is saying "You need rest! Take this opportunity to sleep a lot and you'll come out all the better for it!!"
