30 Bananas a Day!

Hi everyone,

So I gave up coffee completely 2 months ago....while I feel some of the benefits (no jitters, better sleep) I am always tired and by 6pm I am ready for bed (read = caffeine-free is making me not want to do much of anything). I've heard stories of folks being filled with energy after quitting coffee, but I'm still waiting for that burst. Any words of encouragement??

Thanks in advance.

What does your diet look like apart from being coffee free? How much water are you drinking each day, and how much sleep are you getting? I'll try to help if I can :) xxx

How many calories do you get per day, and from what?
Exercise?
More info homeslice!!! :)

Hi Kimber,

Exercise strenously 5-6 times per day, drink on average 2 gallons of water per day, eat an average of 3,000 calories per day.

Blessings,

Ren

If you are exercising that much you probably need more than 3000 calories. Maybe try upping your intake for a week or two and see if it makes a difference :) You might also want to introduce an extra rest day into your routine since you are feeling so tired, and/or reduce your exercise so that it is less strenuous. For a lot of people it takes quite a while to completely recover from eating/drinking things like coffee, so you will probably feel better and better as your body adjusts to your new diet. I would definitely up your intake though - you need plenty of fuel to feel energized! Hope this helps and feel free to ask if you have any more questions :) Esperanza xxx

Thank you for your feedback, Esperanza.

I have wondered if I am exercising too strenuously. Perhaps I will cut back to 5 days per week and I will increase my calories.

Thanks & Blessings,

Ren

You're very welcome! I hope you feel better really soon :) xxx

Hi Esperanza,

My diet is about only 5% overts, drink tons of water (average 2 gallons a day) exercise 5-6 times a week, only eat cooked once in a while and when I do it's only vegetables, get enough fruit calories in per day, usually sleep about 9 hours per night, get sun frequently.

Thanks in advance,

Ren

Dr. Shelton (noted Natural Hygienist) had an interesting statement in one of his books: "If you want to see the real state of your health, give up stimulants." Whew. They take a toll on the bod, don't they?  .....ana xoxo

I guess I am one of the lucky ones. It only took about 3 days before I was 'over' coffee and felt better in the morning. I was only drinking a cup in the morning. How much coffee were you used to drinking per day? At first, I added some cacao to my morning banana shake, but within a week, I switched to a huge dateorade in the morning. Have you tried dateorade? The 'sugar high' gives quite an energy boost and sets me up to eat better throughout the day (I think because I'm starting off with a calorie dense food in the a.m.).

Hi friend, I went through the same thing.  I was freaked out to learn freakin' Starbucks puts msg in the mocha drinks I was addicted to.....

I'm now 90% recovered.  I sleep 9 hours a night!  I used to sleep seven.  I exercise moderately instead of going at it hardcore.  I know this isn't 811, but a couple of glasses of celery juice a week seems to help things along, along with eating celery in general and of course lots of greens and fruit.  let us know how you're doing.

Do you find yourself hypersensitive to lights in your sleeping environment?  I am.  I go to great lengths to black out the room.  I think it has something to do with adrenal exhaustion.  And getting sunlight on my body (I"m in Oregon, this is a rare treat!) has been so healing!

@Ren,

For a morning pick me up, just eat a mono breakfast of oranges.  You might bounce off the walls in no time:D

However, do make sure you are eating enough calories of low fat raw fruits and leafy lettuces a day.  2500-3000.  Drink till you float.  Some people need 3-4 quarts a day.

In nature, many of our primate cousins who live close to the tropics may sleep 12 hours a day, plus take rest during the midday.  Some people need more than others, and on this diet, some people have a tendency to go through detox and may need more sleep and rest in the beginning.  Sleeping anywhere from 8-12 hours a day is normal for most people on this way of life and seeking optimum health.

Other things that might be going on with you are detox, adrenal exhaustion and healing of the adrenal glands and kidneys, and also, caffeine is a chemical that affects the brain chemistry.  It may take a few months for seratonin and other such chemicals to get balanced again.

I am not quite sure of the internal state of your body, but give yourself about 6 months or more to let your body heal, rest, and repair.

Peace, PK

Hi PK and all,

Thanks for your responses!

PK, I would absolutely love to drink a large amount of oranges every morning, but I haven't been eating any oranges, because I think they're too acidic for me. I find that I break out very easily with oranges. Any thoughts? Oh, and what kind of oranges?

As for datorade, Raw Mom, It's great for mornings, yes, I do find energy with datorade. It's really fatigue I feel all day after about 2-3pm - That's when I start feeling tired....Like, tired "I don't want to do anything else today" tired.
