Comment by ednshell on June 10, 2012 at 10:59am I have used the keeper made of rubber for over 10 years, they work great! I have tried sponges, not as good. I bought a moon cup made out of silicone and it smelled very toxic, I called the company and told them I wanted a refund and they said no but we'll send you a new one if you send us the one you bought but I told them I didn't want a new one. I was able to return it to the store. I since read that silicone may not be pure and can have some very toxic stuff added to it, even medical grade.

Comment by Sweetfruitlover on June 1, 2012 at 12:27pm I'm so with you Freelee! I've had my diva cup for 10 years now and I love it. I also wear flannel menstrual pads during the heaviest days, of which there aren't many now that I'm eating HCRV (love that part of this diet!) So I don't use anything disposable for my menstrual cycle and I haven't in a decade, which is so cool. Except I guess eventually I will have to throw away the diva cup, but still. I doubt I'll need to purchase another one but if I do I'll get the rubber so it will biodegrade. Thanks!
Comment by Carla Valdivia Salinas on May 30, 2012 at 7:21am I started to use it since a year ago, and it's totally TOTALLY amazing, you just forget about it!!! I mean...just USE IT and you'll see.... Totally worth it.
Comment by dangermouse on May 29, 2012 at 6:24am I've had my Diva cup for almost 8 years. In chronological order, switching to a menstrual cup, lfrv, and an IUD are the best decisions I've made in my life. Hmmm... something about my boyfriend should probably be in there somewhere. Haha.
I've had heavy periods where I needed to empty the cup every hour or so, but I had to change tampons almost that often as well, so no big deal for me. On heavy days like that, I'd wear a pad as backup, which I also sometimes did with tampons. They can be messier than tampons, but it just requires a change of habits. In my opinion, the health and environmental benefits vastly outweigh any

Comment by Marina on May 28, 2012 at 6:37pm Jolita, I believe it depend on the previous life style. I have no flow. Never had them... But... I was unfortunately anorexic and had to work a lot in my high school... Now I am a happy 811 eat as much as u can stuff your face with :D , but I have no flow. This DOES not mean I do not evulate and cannot get kids! :D
Comment by Tinah on May 28, 2012 at 6:02pm How do you not feel that? lol I can't imagine not feeling something inserted into me that big. I dislike wasting liners. I will try it.
P.S. you look beautiful!
Comment by Tarah @ 40 Below Fruity on May 28, 2012 at 5:27pm I wish I could see the video!
Hmm. I thought it was the right size, but maybe I need to try a different brand.
My flow easily quadruples when I eat 10% fat or over. Actually, since I've cut the fat down to a small amount once per week I haven't had my monthly flow at all. Interesting how that works.
Comment by TheBananaGirl on May 28, 2012 at 4:08pm Glad this video has helped and that most have a great experience :)
Oh that's a shame Tarah, I haven't heard many bad experiences like that. You may have had the wrong size as I never feel mine and I have never ever filled my cup all the way up. I usually leave it in around 7 hrs. Do you notice your flow is heavier when you are eating more than 10% fat consistently?
Comment by Tarah @ 40 Below Fruity on May 28, 2012 at 3:29pm I can't watch videos on my computer but....I had used a Diva Cup for about a year, before flushing it down the toilet by accident (oops!). I tried very hard to like it, but it was so uncomfortable (yes I was inserting it correctly). It's not very good for a heavy flow as well - it needs to be emptied every hour or so and often overflows if you can't get to a toilet. Also very messy to clean up if you're not home in your own bathroom (think blood all over your hands in a public washroom or at work)! It was not a good experience with the menstrual cup!
After using the cup I've opted for organic cotton pads and will be purchasing Luna Pads soon:www.lunapads.com ...I could never get used to the idea of having anything stuck up in my woman areas!
