Comment by TheBananaGirl on June 15, 2012 at 7:56am Thanks Richie :) Haha I don't know what stonking means but it sounds positive!
Hey Herbivore, my money is on fruit being the food of the future, no sprouting, cooking, prepping needed, it tastes amazing as is and digests like a breeze! Myself and many others find grains and legumes tough on digestion. Fruit can also be dried and exported. :)
Comment by Herbivore Lion on June 15, 2012 at 2:57am Hi Freelee, thanks for your response. I suppose I was thinking more in terms of surviving rather than thriving. I'm interested in the concept of sprouted grains. As grains have a higher carb count than legumes. I hear they are a bit more difficult to manage when sprouting though.
In any case I think cooked or raw, grains and legumes are going to be the food of the future for a large world population. You can keep them dried virtually indefinitely and export them wherever you want because of that.
Comment by Richie Fruitbat on June 15, 2012 at 1:48am Freelee that is a stonking video! Seriously effective. Love it!
Comment by TheBananaGirl on June 14, 2012 at 7:53am Hey Herbivore :) if we tried to feed people on sprouts they wouldn't be satiated as they need a dense carbohydrate calorie source such as fruit to meet their carbohydrate needs. Lets feed them on fruit and or other high carb vegan foods that they will really enjoy!
Comment by Herbivore Lion on June 13, 2012 at 10:51pm In relation to the starvation issue does anyone think feeding people on vast numbers of sprouts is the best solution to world starvation? If people aren't going to stop eating meat overnight then expanding the food that hasn't been taken by greed and avarice would seem the best alternative.
*Obviously bean and lentil sprouts would be best for high calorie count but microgreens are also a nice novelty. I'm not a nutrition expert but this sort of thing would presumably be better than what most people eat, and certainly better than what most people don't eat.
