I think a lot of people get hit by metaphorical cars due to poor judgement.

I just had to make a little judgement. =)

A guy with a shot gun, at your door step asking to come in, is dangerous. <--- this is a fact (This is an opinion, why is it inherently dangerous? I can think of a ton of story lines wherein he has good reason for carrying a shotgun. Ex. - He heard about a bunch of pale guys coming to your house to kill the vegan, he's there to help out.)

To me the crux is this, people make judgements all the time. If they say they don't, they are mistaken or lying. But I think where people have a problem is where someone else makes a judgement about them and then tries to force that judgement onto them. Making the judgement isn't the problem, it's how we're wired to process information. The problem is when one person attempts to force their judgement onto another.

So I have made a judgement that eating animals is not good, I act upon that judgement for myself. No one seems to have a problem with that unless they have some issues anyway. But as soon as I go to someone eating animals and tell them they have to stop, then my judgement = bad, at least in their eyes. The thing is we have to have a little of this friction going on, heck I've had some posts irritate me and yet in the end they delivered information I needed to hear.

I think that people just like to be told they're right and that everything is OK. If you have a different message than that, you're going to have a certain number of people react negatively. That's fine, it's their choice.

The guy you featured doesn't seem very wise to me at all! I have seen VERY FEW people here on 30BAD ever being rude or nasty to each other! There have been people trying to hijack the site to make it their personal soapbox on whatever, until "the jackboots came and robbed them of their personal liberty", LOL! THANK YOU JACKBOOTS! Seriously though, anyone who thinks 30BAD is a nasty, mean spirited place has obviously never spent any time here. Or came here and immediately started breaking the rules, but I can tell you that even if that latter is the case, the mods go out of their way and really agonize over trying to help people get out of that rut in a caring/constructive way.

Some people don't react as well to your no nonsense, sometimes blunt delivery, but in the end they should be thankful you are not just blowing smoke at them, you are telling them the truth as you understand it, which I think is a lot more than can be said for some of the "gurus" out there.

You're right, we ALL judge somehow.

People that say they don't judge are kidding right?

Comment by King Dinosaur on June 6, 2012 at 1:32am

Right on, man!  I've held this opinion (ha) for a long time but people really, really don't want to hear it.  You're right - it is a conditioning...at least in that people are taught to say "I don't judge people", but it's ingrained, we do it all the time and it's natural.

Hope Mr. Morse will focus his attention on answering some of your great questions addressed to him. I would think he would take delight for the sake of clarity, reinforcing his opinions for his viewers, and even have an opportunity to perhaps strengthen his own resolve.  Geez, you already said you like the the guy, share much in common, and nothing personal; I believe ya D.

Thanks for passionately pursuing insightful dialog in pursuit of planet health.

Maybe what they really mean is don't express your judgement haha

An opinion isn't a fact though, that's the difference.

People have opinions and judge upon facts, and dispute them, not because the fact is false, but just because their own opinion about the fact, is that it's false.

A guy with a shot gun, at your door step asking to come in, is dangerous. <--- this is a fact

you should let a guy with a shotgun, come in your house <---- this is an opinion.

Good video - yes, I DO judge!  LOL LOL  Thanks Harley.

BTW Robert is NOT my Spiritual Guru.  I have high standards for one (yes, another judgement!).
