@Stylestacker I don't think its quite like that, for one it is the truth that these people really do think, live and eat this way, but also the programme is just trying to entertain the general public by indulging their misguided perception that raw foodists and vegans are all extreme and silly. I don't think 'they' are trying to control any one. A film crew just set out to make a documentary that people would watch and to be fair most raw foodists in England really are like this. Even we find these people funny and are glad most other people see it as funny, the reason we don't like it is because we know that isn't the only type of raw vegan and we can see it will deter a lot of people from taking 811 seriously, however when this doco was made the filmakers wouldn't have known 811 existed at all since the movement was so small and still is very tiny. I agree that this doco is annoying because people may stereotype 811 as part of this craziness along with drinking pee and all the rest, but if one of us made this doco we probably would have made it the same, except after warning people about the wrong way to get into raw, there would be some kick-ass footage of us fruities kicking ass and taking names to show the right way.

Just wanted to share my view :D

Ah! I went on Youtube to watch the second part of this ridiculousness, and it shows the mother talking about how she wouldn't give her kids APPLES/ORANGE JUICE, because that's too much sugar, and how they think of apples and fruit juices as treats, but she doesn't want to give it to them.... :( *sigh*

Comment by Michael Conaway on February 7, 2012 at 1:47am

We don't eat sugar?  Uhh wheres the fruit? WHY WOULD YOU DRINK YOUR PEEE?!  It came out of your body for a reason and your shoving it back in?!  I didn't see her eating one fruit or even mention fruit which is the main bulk of eating raw.... all they show is her juicing vegetables.  And all they show is her kids eating vegetables.  Oh wait I saw one fruit it was a red bell pepper that she juiced anyways.  These people aren't raw at all, they eat virtually all of their calories from refined foods.  These people are really giving us a bad name ugh.

This doc made me angry when it was made a few years ago.  Channel 4, who made this, like to put derogetory voice-overs and circus-style music in the background of all their documentaries such as 'the man whose skin fell off', 'my big fat gypsy wedding', e.t.c.  This is just another freak-show program, which misrepresents our raw peeps and feeds the uninformed public in general.  Pure garbage.

Pay attention, this is part of a disinfo campaign against raw food and healthy eating, they are labeling it as a cult. They need to get rid of healthy people because they can't control them.
