This is my story about my experience with an ultrasound and miscarriage.
I thought I would post this because Vegans seem to be a bit more open minded when it comes to these things.

Thanks so much for this video! I'm just starting my 2nd trimester and was considering getting an ultrasound to make sure everything was okay, and then I happened to come across this video. I'm so glad I did! Whether things are "okay" or not, it won't change me taking care of my body and baby, it just might make me worry for months if something "iffy" came up.
Andrew, your reply is a bit ridiculous and insulting. Do not insult me as a person and tell me I need to "learn some science." Perhaps you have not even checked out the links I posted under my youtube video. There has been studies done in other countries on Ultrasound technology and there WAS risks, including miscarriage. Just because maybe in a western country here we don't have a "scientific study" done on it doesn't mean it isn't true. Do you really think our government is going to spend all that money on a study to prove that ultrasound is dangerous when it employs so many people? And I never said being vegan has anything to do with how your body reacts to an ultrasound so where did you pull that information from? You clearly did not listen to my video at all but made an assumption before you even watched it. Also I have NO desire to blame anything for my miscarriage, in fact I didn't even question ultrasound or that it could be that until a member of the MEDICAL community mentioned it to me. Someone who has over 30 years experience as a nurse. I'm just not that type of person to feel the need to "blame" when it comes to something like this. I just want to know the truth so I can help other people. And on the safety of sound waves... really? You have really never heard of sound waves being dangerous. hmmm lets just see for a minute what are some other uses for sound waves.. hmmm..let's see.. okay they use it in oil fields to clean expensive machinery. My father in law worked in oil perforation for many years and they had a device used to clean equipment that used sound technology, they warned the employees if anyone even touched it when it was on it could cause instant bone issues in ones hand. Another example is LRAD, a sonic weapon used to control crowds. Please do your own research before you insult someone. Sound waves also have been known to mess up migratory patterns of whales and other marine life. So no...sound technology is not all safe. Just because we deem something safe in the medical community doesn't mean it is. We laugh at many things they used to use in the past because we know it's not safe now. Don't mock people who think and do research just because it isn't what you "grew up hearing." I suggest you do your own research and admit you are "completely and utterly wrong." Have a great day Andrew.
Thank you for sharing your story. I am so sorry you went through that! As Ralph Nader says it really is a buyer beware world and this includes your medical purchases! Never trust your Doctor, do your own research. I remember reading years ago that these ultrasounds effect your baby's hearing. Who knows what else they do. If your friend knew of 6 people having miscarriages then you know this is happening way more than 20 out of 4,500 people. Maybe it happens more to those having them early in their pregnancies. Very important video to put out, thank you!!!
I think it would be good to post in an unassisted pregnancy group. These women do their research on things the medical establishment sees as "normal" or "routine". When my mom was pregnant with me they only gave you one ultrasound. My sister and I were both born early (me with birth defects). Women really need to always do the research on the risks. I really think 3D ultrasound is a bit much. What's next? Sticking a camera in there to take a picture of him? You don't really "need" to see the baby before its born. Just have patience and trust how you feel and fetal movements to know how the baby is doing. Too much info can be bad sometimes.
The thing that has always fascinated me with amniocentesis and ultra-sounds is, what you going to do if you discover the foetus you are carrying has some deformity? Abort it?
I have not had the chance to watch your video yet but I'll share my experience with ultrasounds. With my first baby I got two pictures, they did not do video at that time. With the next baby they offered to give me a video ultrasound every month, I thought they were crazy, new technology that has not stood any test of time, plus I told them there was research that it may be harmful. The medical people told me the benefits of possibly catching a problem was worth any risk. I walked away shaking my head at these fools so entranced by technology and big egos, I swear we are all just a bunch of monkeys looking at shiny objects with fascination, well most of us anyway. So I did the one video ultrasound for that second baby and my husband and I saw that he moved away from the device as it tried to catch him on video and he had his mouth wide open as if he was screaming. I did not do any ultrasounds for my next two pregnancies.
