30 Bananas a Day!

Alex Jamieson of Supersize me fame has recently blogged that she is no longer vegan. When I read her post I almost immediately saw where she went wrong.

30BaD Note: High Carb Cooked Vegan is a good second choice when, for whatever reason, one is unable to get enough calories from Fruit. But please be aware of the health problems associated with cooked and gluten.
Grains do not constitute part of a natural diet for humans. We are biologically frugivores and are adapted to eat fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds such as sunflower seeds that can be eaten and digested in their raw state. We are ill-equipped to handle the starch and protein found in grains. However, the human body can accommodate to all sorts of diets. This does not mean that we can maintain optimum health on any diet other than our natural frugivorous one.

If one can care about and still consume animals, then it has to be through found flesh only (road kill, discarded meat). Animal farming can never be compassionate -- no being should ever be farmed, or have its freedom constrained in any way.

I have always been leary of any diet that says no fruit or carbs. In any case that's too bad she stopped beig vegan and I hope she can find her way back.

Great video Richie. I can't imagine how anyone could salivate why looking at meat. Even when I wasn't vegan, it just looked like a grey dead thing on a plate. Thanks for raising those points.

She did it wrong and didn't eat enough. If she was having cravings, she needed to add fruit. Not fats. If I ate that many vegetables, I'd be hungry. Tofu isn't the way to go, either.

I was disappointed to hear about Alex going back to eating meat ): After seeing Supersize Me I thought she was great and even bought her book.

Love watching your videos Richie!

This is great, and it addresses the same problems we see in the vegan community again, and again. I'm so sick of hearing raw vegans talking about restricting their sugar and living on vegetables. I did that and I was literally STARVING! I'm hitting the 3000 calorie mark a day now, mostly through fruit, sometime supplemented with cooked starches and I feel incredible. I am NEVER going back to being a low cal vegan. Thanks Richie, we've got to get this message out there.

Alex went morally bankrupt. She pretends she is an elite athlete fitter and stronger than all the other vegan athletes out there.

At least she was honest and hinted that 'she just wants to fit in'.

Its like non smokers that start smoking again.
