Tim and DR are awesome inspirations who tell it like they see it with humor and passion. Have you heard Tim's podcast interview on We like it raw.com? He chooses to eat more fat than 10%, but apparently just about everything he consumes is a fresh plant or fruit. Props to him. Last I heard, Tim was looking to start up a team of athletic/running ambassadors across the country. Its still seems in start-up mode, but I know two of the few who live part time in Phx. This might be something for you to check.
More the NW side o the valley, so I don't often find myself in your region. The last time, I went to check out the deals at an asian market (where fruit is typically plentiful and inexpensive, although hardly ever organic) called Lee Lee's. I wasn't impressed by the selection here, but on the way I stopped in the relatively new Mekong Plaza at Dobson & Main. For a wicked price, I scored 3 small crates of champaign mangoes (heat treated, yes, but I couldn't resist) and about half a shopping cart of bruised bananas ugly enough to send most shoppers shrieking in horror. To me, that means they were just getting ripe enough for a great smoothie! Sorry to hear you're on the DL for running currently. Speedy recovery thoughts to you. I just learned about an interesting sounding sports rehab facility in Scottsdale. You can check it out at http://myrehab.com/, and let me know what you think. May I ask what drew you to pursuing this lifestyle, especially at an age when most youngsters like us consider ourselves bulletproof?
