Tushie...you are sweet as a flower :)
Thanks for the add...sorry for taking so long to accept. I hadn't been on here for a while.
How is life in Bristol? What is the fruity situation and the raw clan like?
I've been pondering a move there. Decided to go to Brighton for a while first, but Bristol is certainly where future calls. I'm inspired by all the cirque.
Would be tremendous to meet you some day.
Love Holi
So sorry I havent been in contact for a while. Finished my job in Belgium but was staying at the works house, housesitting, and overused the computer as did not have one when the family were around! So since Ive been back in England Ive tried to not use it at all as really wanted a break!!
So yes...im back!! In gloomy cold England!! Trying to sort out everything for my trip away but been slightly delayed as had a set back in my health, due to circumstances beyond my control.....my parents house!!! Will explain more when I see you as quite complicated to write about!
Anyways, how are you? Have you been feeling any better? So glad you are friends with Maeghan now....the more support the better especially with people who are going through the same.
I read that Maeghan said about meeting this weekend....that would be really good if we all met together :-)!!! Me and my sis are also around Monday if you cant do Sunday!
Amazing - fate not coincidence I am sure! Your job sounds wonderfully interesting and fulfilling, how important it is to have a job that feels worthwhile and that makes a difference.
Yes, please message me and let me know. If Sunday is no good I'm still around until Monday evening so we could always move the meeting to suit you! Really hope to meet you, and I'll chat soon! xx
Ha! we should definitely stay in touch!! My dream is to open a yoga centre in Bristol - I teach yoga and my husband is just qualifying to teach also. We want to quit this city and open our own centre. I am also a nutritionist so want to do both in Bristol, but my latest dream is to find someone to help me open a raw food vegan cafe or food facility attached or related! So we must keep our dreams alive I say!
It's a long shot I know, but I'm coming home to Taunton this weekend to see my mum who is sadly battling cancer. I'm meeting up with my friend - Avasha on this site - who introduced me to the diet and has been on it for 5 months with her sister (who is Shanti on here). If you fancy joining us for a herbal tea or some fruit, we're hooking up on Sunday and it might be really fun to meet up!
What is it that you do for work at the moment?
Hey you, thanks for coming back so fast! I saw some of your posts and wanted to chat to you further given our similar issues! I'm only three weeks in and first two weeks were wonderful but then the last few days my gut has gone to hell - bloating, indigestion and bad bowels (sorry!). I just wanted to know how you had got on following your initial blog and postings where you sounded as nervous as I am about all the candida stuff. Have your symptoms cleared up?
I also noticed you're in Bristol. I'm from Taunton and living now in London but my hubby and I are relocating to Bristol in the next year or two when we can get our flat sold. Do you like it there? It seems a lovely part of the country and pretty alternative too!
Hey thanks, I'm actually feeling well the past view days, candida wise. But I seem to always have a problem with anxiety/irritability and insomnia when I do high fruit. I think its my blood sugar/adrenals. Have you experienced this?
Hey beautiful Tushie,
Really hope you have been having a better day today!! I know your parents house...i used to ride in the woods opposite their house! Must be so nice for them to live on the edge of the forest! That is really excting about your son! I find it exciting getting friends to eat more fruit so cant imagine what it must feel like with your family! I have had a friend (Maeghan) join here today who has had very severe candida too for 15 years and hasnt eaten fruit for 10 years so i really have everything crossed for her too! She has just started the diet.
That would be great to meet up with you! Will be a first as I have not met another 80/10/10 before...apart from my sis! Its the goddess conference in Glasto this week. Hopefully my sis will be going. Have you been before? Went to a few events last year and loved it....met some amazing radical godesses there!!
Ha!!! Thats crazy! My parents live 5 mins away from Merry Harriers too!! Where is it yours are? Mine live right next to Burnworthy Manor...do you know it? It is on the very outskirts of Churchstanton, literally 2 mins off the main road that runs past the pub. Thats so random!!
I know what you mean about this troublesome journey!!!I have been on a very long healing journey and hoping it is coming to a close soon!! I am still trying to work out whats best for my body! I am very lucky that i do not have to be around any cooked food...know how hard that is! Does your boyfriend support you or think you are crazy? I know what has made this all easier for me is that I am very blessed in that I have been going through all of this with my sister......blood and soul!! She has also had ill health the same as me for the past 6 years and is following 80/10/10 too. She is a HUGE support for me. She is on here too.....Sarah....my only friend!!! (I havent been very active on here as havent had a computer!!)
Are you still limiting the sweet fruits? That is also likley to blame for binges. I know when i didnt have enough calories i would crave fats and cooked foods. Honestly Tushie,I know this is the right diet and over the 10 years i have been unwell, it is the only method i have had results from!!! Me and my sis have complete faith in it although our healing is taking a lot longer than we first thought and we both still get frustrated....a lot!!....especially as on this site its full of healthy athletes, but we just have to focus on what they are like and what they do.....eat a lot of sweet, juicy fruit.....and stay positive!!!
Below is what Doug Graham wrote to me on vegsource when i questioned him about why some of my symptoms are getting worse since Ive been following the diet:
"Do you stop to consider the possibility that health is like a runaway
train? When you initiate momentum down one track, away it goes.
Should you make changes in your routine, with hopes of going down a
different route, the change is not immediate. First, the train must slow
down, while continuing on the degenerative path it was following.
Eventually, you can stop the train, and reverse its direction in order to
choose a different path.
That which we set into action through many years of incorrect living
does not simply disappear as a result of just a few weeks of dietary
reform.
Healthful living has no contraindications.
Live healthfully and expect health as a result."
Hope that may help you put a better perspective on your health!
If you are around in August we could maybe meet up in Glasto one day if you like?!!.......and talk all things fruity :-)!!!
I am actually from Somerset!! My parents live in the beautiful Blackdown hills just outside of Taunton....do you know it? I have been living in Belgium for the last year though saving enough to go travelling in September, but i finish here in 2 weeks and then I go home for a month....cant wait! Miss my dogs soooo much....and the beautiful hills! Do you go to Glastonbury much? I love it there!
Just have to say i LOVE your dreads!!!! I have been searching the web looking for pics of some i liked and couldnt find any until I came across your pic on here!!! They are the nicest Ive seen! I am looking into getting dreads myself. I wasnt sure wether to let it go naturally or have them put in. I actually contacted a girl in Bristol!! Cant remember her exact name but has a site on myspace called Rasta-fairies dreadlocks.......the name appealed to me ;-). So did you have yours put in?
Hope you are starting to feel better on the diet? I had candida for the last 10 years ( Ive had M.E as well during this time) and feared fruit. But at the beginning of the year i was on raw gourmet and my candida got very bad with severe stomach pains. Luckily it was then i came across 80/10/10 and realised it was the fat making it worse, not fruit. As soon as i started this diet (have been 9/5/5 though) my candida started to clear up and finally a fungus on my toe nail i have had for the last 10 years has FINALLY grown out!! I have complete faith that this diet heals candida! And i dont limit my intake of fruit or sweet fruits. You just have to perserve. I Know how you feel though, especially when healing takes time
:-(!!!
Wishing you lots of love, peace and healing back in my home county!!
Oh, my favorite thing since going raw - I've lost 40lbs and can feel my body in ways I couldn't before, so much more sensitivity, I guess. Better digestion, more energy, clearer thinking, cleaner feeling (inside).

What is the one flower that almost looks alien, do you know? I also take lots of pix of flowers, fruit, etc. There's nothing as beautiful, imho. I am now into my second year of being raw, started transitioning last year around Feb or March. Still enjoy my organic corn chips and rice crackers, but I make my own nut mylks, and lots of sprouts, and right now lots of fruit!! :-) Tis' the season...
love & blessings,
Raybo
yep, you got it girl!!! angelina did play her. I've had some slip ups too cause of the holidays : ( but i'm back on track cause it was just a day, i need to be more prepared. Plus it's been annoying with the people at work telling me fruit is bad and eating it will give me all sorts of problems and make me fat, but we all know better!
haha thanks, but it's not me it's my fashion icon gia carangi---she was the world's first supermodel lol...everything is going great sans the lecture i got from co workers on how fruit is bad and it will make you have insulin probs and make you fat lol. How are things with you, dear?
