Hey Nova thanks for the add :)
The fruit is actually prickly pear which is a cactus fruit that grows on a cactus. The photos of the red bulbs on the cactus is the fruit and once peeled turns out like you saw in the bowl. It comes in 3 major colours, deep pinkish red, bright orange and green/yellow. They are so delicious and are one of my favourite fruits and I've tasted more kinds of fruit than the average person haha.

Nova, I just love your Gorilla profile pic!  The other day someone asked me in response to my diet "Where do you get your protein?"  UGHHH!!  I asked them back "Where do Gorilla's get theirs?"  They went: "I dunno!"  Silly meat eaters!!!  LOL LOL

Hi Nova,

I love living in Cairns and love eating 811. I think Cairns suits this lifestyle very well with plenty of free fruit to forage for.........I would love to visit NZ!:)
