30 hours per person does not seem like a fair deal to me, since we would be working for room +utilities and not food. Since we are a couple we would be sharing the same space that a single person would occupy and would not use significantly more utilities. I could understand if you wanted more work if you were feeding two people, but since you are not I think that expecting double the amount of work for what you would otherwise give to one person is not a fair trade.

We would be happy to negotiate something with you. If we can't work something out as far as volunteering, we will still be happy to visit and say hello :)

Thank you for the volunteer offer. I will talk to hubby when he gets home. He works at a farm about 40 minutes away, and leaves early in the morning. I am teaching yoga right now at the local community college. I also work on a blueberry farm during the summer. I am skilled at raw food prep, even the gourmet stuff. We started high fat and I enjoyed making Matthew Kenney and Ani Phyos recipes the most. On special occasions I enjoy adapting these recipes to 801010, with good results.

By 30 hours per week I am assuming that would be total, as in we would each work 15 hours to pay for housing. That seems fair to me.

Hubby will be coming to Costa Rica August 28. I have been given the chance to study Ashtanga yoga in Mysore India and will be coming to Costa Rica in October.

We have also maybe been offered a caretaking position in the Central Valley by raw food lady named Patrika, but I haven't heard back from her in awhile so we will see...

So excited that this is actually happening!

Hubby and I are coming to Costa Rica in September!! I'm very excited. We are thinking that Costa Rica is where we would like to ultimately settle- to we'll be checking it out! Any good advice for us? Where to stay, where to get good fruit? We are hoping to find work and stay for 6 months+. I'm excited!

the plan is to stay at the mango tree spa. I just discovered your place - it looks amazing and I would love to come by and check it out. How far are you from the mango tree? It doesn't appear to be a long distance. I will most certainly be checking out all the beautiful sights and hit the beach for some waves and try loads of great fruit. What is the best for transportation? Is the shuttle bus good or is it best to rent a vehicle? Is the driving as bad as I read?
