Look you don't realize that what you're trying to do is actually really hard. You're only looking at the practical side of things but you're not acknowledging your very own needs. You cant just chug down 2 huge smoothies of bananas and hope to be happy for the rest of your life. I study naturopathy and let me give you straight up the 2 best tips you've ever gotten in your life:
1) In order to appreciate the simple taste of sweet fruit, you need to be alkaline. The only way to alkalize your body is through greens. Fruits alone will never cut it. If you don't have at least 1 glass of green juice a day you will get cravings and you wont LOVE fruit. After 1 week of having a green juice every morning you will notice a HUGE difference in your appreciation of fruit even bananas.
2) The second fastest method to alkalize your body and start loving fruit naturally is by getting in a lot of vitamin C. Include stuff like lemons which is rich in Vitamin C. Since you're on a budget lemons will be the cheapest way. Drink fresh lemonade in the morning and add a bit of honey.
If you actually do this you will see a difference. You will enjoy extremely simple foods such as a banana smoothie. I can guarantee you this. This is not only what i have learned from my studies but also from personal experience. I'm telling you right away, if you don't include greens (go for spinach its more nutrient dense) you wont succeed in the long term. You CAN change your taste buds and your body. But that is by showing your body that you're giving it all the nutrients it needs. Plus it takes a lot of minerals to digest all that sugar you're eating and i can't believe some people don't even know this, it's a basis of nutrition. Try it out and let me know how that works.
I had the same problem with work too. I would often just not eat at work then be hungry all day and eat crap at night. Now I take a lunchbox full of bananas and apples, so it's at least there if I get hungry. I also make sure to eat before work now as well. :)
Yes!!!! :) Me too, I'd like that! That's cool that you're looking to be a naturopathic practitioner, how's that working out for you? I was thinking of doing that a year ago and may still go for it at some point in my life :) How's your rawness going?
Why hello! Northampton is quite close to me; it's funny because I just read what you wrote on your page: "I would love to find out if there is anyone around me that is doing this in MA" Awesome, it was just a matter of time :)
Girl, hop on those dates. I went through 5lbs easily in one week and I was limiting myself. It is definitely worth the money (see if you can get you some of the Bahri dates, they are the most delicious ones I have ever tasted in my entire life).
But I just ordered 20lbs. If you order them now, they'll get to you in 3-4 weeks. JUST DO IT! Highly recommended. Probably the 10lb wet pack, ask to be surprised and request the Bahri's girl. They're heaven.
I know! I love your posts about the difficulties you are having. I am currently going through the same things as well. Facing so much opposition and lack of understanding from so many people, yet my need to feel included or have these familiar sensations. This life is rough but is worth it in the end. I am currently waiting for 20lbs of dates to get me through December but until them, bananas all the way.
