Nope, never done Kielder before - only started running last November, did my first 10k in April...
Deffo meet up for a run - sounds fab (are you doing Kielder too?). If you're interested in barefoot, there's a guy from Northumbria Uni has a barefoot running group some Thursdays on the Town Moor - Northumbria Barefoot Running - I've been meaning to make it along (think he's had two so far), but work has been a bit over the top and I haven't had the time.
Yeah mate there aren't many of us it seems - we need more fruit shops and less Greggs up here! Thanks for the tips, I've got a blender and I'm smashing the bananas in now so onwards and upwards! Take it easy buddy.
It's good to hear from you. I live in Durham, how about you?
When the weather warms up a bit I'm hoping to do lots more cycling. I know lots of great routes around the northeast and beyond. A few months ago I went on a bike ride with Graham Furphy (see previous comment) to Park Head Cafe on the Waskerly Way. I enjoyed that, I'm not sure how Graham's legs coped though! I have some cycling video's on youtube too (eatmoreraw channel). I love longer bike rides, like 60 mile plus. When your fuel up on fruit and keep off the fat plus do extended exertion like that, it's like being on a super charged 'drugged up high' experience!
My business (flexauto.co.uk) has been a bit hit and miss recently, so I'm healthier than I am wealthy and have struggled to afford all the fruit. However, hopefully that will change soon though, as I'm looking to get back into regular employment. I'm more or less doing a low fat vegan Dr McDougall / Caldwell Estellstyn type of diet. Fruit makes me feel the best though.
i feel a bit of a fraud replying to your friend invite as i'm about as healthy as I am wealthy.... and I'm skint!!. I vascillate so much between lcrv and full on western insanity it's actually making me unhealthier and heavier than i've ever been. But I'm hoping like quitting smoking i'll just give up trying one day and start doing. Anyways it's really good to hear from a fellow northern monkey. I've seen a few names on here but only had a reply from one chap by the name of Stuart Porter. I liked your reply about Doug Graham's book... keep in touch it would be interesting to know where you forage and how you're doing. 24 bananas in one sitting is very impressive....

Aye, it would have been just the thing. I miss mine. If only there was something similar but somewhat portable...
Alas, gone, and at a steal for a price too!
