I have been trying waking up to a glass of warm lemon water in the morning (squeeze it right into the glass!) I think it's helping the condition of my skin. Might help with the detox symptoms. The purpose is to help the liver clear out so it isn't over taxed throughout the day. Clean Liver and Colon= Clear skin =) Hope this helps
I like to squeeze grapefruit orange lemon, chop up dill or cilantro or both (^.^) tomato and lettuce whatever other veggies...you can also check out fully raw.com it's a great website with lovely dressings =)
When I go home I hope to work with farmers and strike a deal...We've got a lot of farmers markets too (local and organic) It's a quaint little area which is nice but expensive because of all the rich people!
Sorry about the stomach ache...but it happens (I had broccoli yesterday raw and it wasn't fun times this morning).
PS excuse the name change. I felt boring using my real name and thought I'd use my new nickname NONI BERRY given to me by my little sister. I swear I'm a real person =) LOL
I first got into Raw Veganism by searching tirelessly for how to uncover the real me buried beneath my SAD and Afflicted self (physical emotional nutritional spiritual) I knew I was perfect underneath the blocks I had put up and decided I wanted to be as beautiful as I could be and feel as perfect as I could feel. I've been on that journey since I first began to realize I was valuable.
I cut off all of my hair (short like yours 2 years ago as of last Sunday). I have been searching for the right diet for me to thrive and radiate happiness. Ironically it's been a bumpy and sometimes sad and depressing ride. I had to find out how to deal with what I was miserable about and actually see a therapist to uncover my issues. It was worthwhile!
Thanks for asking, UMMM Yeah!
Are your family members culturally Polish? How do you work through the pressure to change your practices/Do you feel like sticking it out?
Haha same here! I thought it was BANANAS and now I AM BANANAS lol. My family eats the SAD diet so don't worry I know that feeling too...they don't even get why I'm vegan forget LFRV they think i'm gonna die my only support is my mom and my little sister (my Dad is neutral and my Brother and sister in law are against). Everyone else uses false information to explain why I NEED to do something other than what I'm doin...I've learned to tune them out...I bring food to family occasions, BUT you can do this too =)
Also I had to get rid of everything uncooked and processed (get rid of your soup you can do it) Give yourself a chance and a clean sweep in the kitchen. Outta sight outta mind =D
Don't worry about eating the corn. It's transition time! KK so I know everyone on this site should be pro headlong switcheroo and I know that is best if you can maintain it, but I've seen that my heads gotta be in any change I make big as this one so Get your head to catch up to your heart cause it is a bit of an addiction we suffer from in these United States...cooked foods
Also...I don't know how mono fruit island really works. I've never tried it before. I do sometimes eat mono meals but I like fruit salad a lot too!
The taste buds will wake up to all different levels of sensitivity too, just give it time =). I've heard smoothies can be a nice change too (try blending up the bananas and adding a few dates?) Durian Riders page has a nice tutorial on that subject and Free Lee explains mono fruit island on her Youtube page.
I still have nightmares...once I had one that I ate bbq chicken (AND I'd I've been vegan/vegetarian before that for some time!!!) so I Totally understand craving issues,
I started out in the winter in Vermont sooo... to deal with the cravings I drank hot water, or herbal tea. It was really tough at first, eating raw become habit after the first two weeks. At college I'm surrounded by all kinds of stuff (except raw ripe fresh fruit...ugh) BUT you can survive this =)
I made sure if I was hungry I ate, and tried not to let myself feel like I was missing out, I still go and chill with friends and eat with them they call me the bunny, and notice how happy I am when I'm eating which makes us all happy, so be sure to find your support.
At first I was eating one ingredient cooked foods (before I knew 8-1-1) OATMEAL was my best friend. I craved it soo badly at first. As soon as I found out how much I was really supposed to be eating (enough according to Dr. Grahm) Everything worked out it just took time.
