Nothing is really in season here right now other than citrus. I like oranges, but I don't know if I can dedicate my winter kitchen to oranges all the time.
So I went to the store today and bought a huge pineapple, and two massive papayas! They will be worth the money I'm sure. The pineapple still needs to ripen, but the papayas are ready for breakfast tomorrow.
I also picked up some carob powder, I really want to figure out a fruit substitute so I can make that pie Megan Elizabeth youtube'd about recently.

Comment by Diane L on November 27, 2011 at 2:18pm Yes, if you shop around you can sometimes get more variety than you initially think you can in the winter. I plan on really shopping around to get as much variety as I can.
