I went on another long trek last Sunday. I had only set out to run in quick to forage some blackberries but it looked like someone had already beat me to the punch since a lot of the large ripe ones were just out of reach. I did manage to find a few and I had previously thought there were only black mulberries but I found a white mulberry tree too and got some of those too.
My biggest find of the day was lots of black wild raspberries that were so good. It was the first time I've ever tasted them before. The ones I found were not as juicy as the red raspberries but they were so rich in flavor. I think I might like them better than the red variety.
I also found a few trees of what I think could be service berries but they were all still green. I can't wait cause I love trying new things. Oh well, maybe some will be ripe this weekend. :o)
